I'm with you Shirley I just couldn't get into it...and now it's showing on TV at the moment as well, but it hasn't improved it any...
Good Morning everyone.. Another Hot day today temps expected to reach around 88 deg f...hubs at work..he wasn't supposed to be in today, but he's had to go and take charge of some unexpected stuff...so I'm happy lol...another day of peace working in the garden !!
Goood Mornin peoples...As usual will be almost hot as hell here...but hey that is what AC is for. We have ordered the Ghost bed and it arrives today...excited. Have much to do inside, no need to be outside today.Stay
Good morning! 103 today. Going out in a few minutes to walk Pickles...it's 6:00 am here but any later and it's too hot for walking. After that, at 8 I go to Curves. Then I'll be home by 9:00 am.....have the whole day to be bored. Don't even have to go to the store today, but I'm sure I'll find an excuse. Have a great day everyone!
NO AC here @Gloria Mitchell , houses in the UK rarely have them even here in the south where we get the hottest weather..but it's not usually this hot. Apparently this is the hottest June and July for 90 years.. I'm struggling with the heat, I've only got standalone fans in the livingroom, and ceiling fans in the bedrooms.. they are not ideal..plus they're so noisy!! I've been working in the garden, but because it's so hot, I've had to do it in 30 minute increments, then come indoors, and stand in front of the fan to try and cool down, but I'm dripping with sweat despite the fans ...I've got to go and have another cool shower..!!!
No ac...oh my @Holly Saunders ...why is that...no ac there in this day and time. Dang I bet the palace has ac
Actually you'd be surprised, there is No AC in the Palace. The queen is notoriously tight fisted , so there will only be fans.. and also we know factually that even in winter they rely on just portable heaters.. Visitors who have stayed overnight have complained bitterly about the cold in winter...the Queen apparently just tells everyone to put extra layers on.. so I would totally believe there's no AC in any of the palaces or castles. AC is the major thing I miss here in the Uk compared to my home in Spain.. our houses are made from solid brick, so it would be expensive to install... but after this very hot summer , I broached the subject with hubs about getting it fitted in here now.. he's non committal at the moment, but I'll keep working on him...
In all the documentaries I have watched about the Royal family never heard that there was no ac or heat. Hum..maybe that is what keeps the ole gal going strong. Cool off best you can then. Build a cool tub outside maybe
Good evening to you all, today has been more settled and I feel generally relaxed now, there was a lot of ferrying children around and moving bedrooms yesterday, plus Lisa's tablet needed a major update which took hours to sort out in the end We are settled in the attic which is Katya's bedroom and has the softest bed, and more space with an en-suite, they are a futon family which neither Lisa or I really like The weather is still in the mid 80s and set to carry on this way until the middle of next week, but I am sort of used to it now. I have just heard that Geoff has a chest infection and is on antibiotics, I guess after major surgery and trauma to the body, there are bound to be some after effects, hopefully the meds will help him get rid of it. Have a great weekend....... A few photo's I took from the attic bedroom window/balcony which is on the second/third floor depending how you count, it's a three storey house Lisa reading about Bulgaria in part of the rear garden/yard with Sharmi one of the two cats here. The other cat Lika The living room early this morning
It's hardly morning but it's a beautiful day today. Cool and windy. Ella enjoys chasing stuff that the wind is blowing around the backyard, but she doesn't want to be out there alone. I don't know that she's ever seen it this windy before and maybe it worries her. She asks to go out, then stands there until I go out with her, and as soon as I go back in, she follows.
