The 'people' want to be governed by an elected Parliament, not by the EU
How this has been allowed to happen is beyond me, I guess too many MPs love the personal perks the EU bribes them with
fortunately, there are those that are willing to shun all that

I didn't understand the bit I've quoted above, so my reply probably won't correspond to it

From what I can gather, the EU is governed by a bunch of bureaucrats who are not elected but appointed by someone in the respective member's bureaucracy. When I have asked folks who lived in the EU who their representative was, they didn't know since they were not elected by anyone. As Patsy says, it appears to be Fat Cats skimming cream and reaping benefits. Apparently Trump is making more rumblings about the EU, especially the Germans, being beholding to Russia for their energy resources. Any time Russia wants the EU to do anything, they simply threated to cut off the gas and oil. It seems Russia has conquered Europe without a shot being fired.

@Don Alaska - you are absolutely spot on !
I love to see Mr. Trump with the EU members, he handles them 'right' - no nonsense approach, which I admire
The line I've quoted from you above, is 'exactly' how I look upon the EU and the countries they 'govern'
Germany has taken over but their days are numbered

@Bill Morrison-Bates - what do you think of the 'morons' flying a blimp over London - idiots in the extreme !
Not a shred of dignity amongst them and as for the 'Mayor' words fail me on that one, but for now - put him in the
    same category stated above !
Mr. Trump does get certain things wrong as we all do but, he is absolutely right on Brexit he would have sorted the
EU out a year ago ! He's also right on NATO - no more free rides !

Apparently the story in The Sun was made up or exaggerated , Bill, as many of the stories in the press about Trump are. He is not politically correct, but he is not stupid, and most of what he does and says is calculated. Folks like you are fooled by the stories in the media, as is intended by them.

True @Don Alaska - best to watch and listen to Mr. Trump and then decide if you like what you hear
Its 50/50 with me personally on what I hear him say, some of it cringeworthy but - some of it, worth
listening to for sure. Mostly, Americans are happy and that's all that matters

As previously stated....yer get wot yer deserve....and what the front door has the EU got to do with you people anyway, I suppose that meddling in other folks' affairs distracts you from your own woes, and let's be honest, you've plenty of those to sort out yet !

Bill, we've had to pull your butts out of the fire twice in the last century and have been supporting Europe since WWII. I think Trump wants you to carry your own weight so we don't have to rescue you again. The folks invested in the International Dole don't want the money to stop. The U.S. supposedly employs 4,000 European civilians just in NATO. I don't think they want the funds transfers to stop. I apologize to other UK folks who understand the situation; a lot of people on both sides of the Atlantic need enlightenment. Trump WANTS Europe and the UK to defend themselves so they are NOT so dependent on the U.S.

Ladies n Gents.....the next question in today's quiz is Guess what was happening in Trafalgar Square today and who were the protesters protesting against ?

And by the way mister, having served in the Royal Air Force for 22 years and lived in Illinois, Washington and Arizona, I think I am certain of what ails the USA as I was there when the 'boy idiot' was voted in, was re-elected, and when the latest clown to be recruited to your 'government' somehow won, the truth of which no one will ever know.

But then again, that's only my opinion, you'd have to ask the other 249.999 about that I guess

To be fair, the UK is coming further to carrying their own weight than any other country in NATO, other than the US.

Yeah, and I think Poland and some of the new members that were part of the old Soviet Bloc. Germany and France particularly are deficient, the two of the three biggest economies in the EU. We'll see what happens. NATO is an alliance without direction or purpose, and should probably be done away with. As I think I mentioned in another post, when NATO wanted to bomb Libya, they were unable to fly across the Mediterranean without U.S. help. NATO had fighters, but no refueling capabilities (or not sufficient) and insufficient or inadequate search-and-rescue.

I reckon you were protecting us from a Mexican invasion when you were in Arizona, and maybe an attack from Canada when you were in Washington (assuming Washington State and not D.C., but what were defending us from in Illinois? To what boy idiot are you referring? Obama? Whatever ails the U.S. was not the subject of the thread anyway. It started out about Mrs. May's problems with her Brexit strategy and the possibility of a vote of no confidence.

As far as I understand that situation - the UK have been contributing more than other countries re NATO
I'm all for fairness and would call out our Country if need be
As for Boris, I would not like to see him as PM - people seem to think he's intelligent because he speaks Latin !
I would rather he speaks 'sense'
