Mornin. It's 32 balmy degrees here in beautiful downtown river city at 3am. Supposed to hit the sizzling 50's. I haven't been out of the house for awhile. I just might make a forbidden beer run later. My doc forbids me to drink beer, so I don't do it in front of her. Beer is the life blood of Germans and Slavs. I'm a Slav/German mutt and something is gonna kill me, so I'll have a beer later. Little beer story. My dad used to tell me about my Slav granddad. Gramps made up a batch of beer and bottled it, then stashed the bottled beer in the basement. That night, every so often, dad would hear a "pop" as a bottle exploded. The "pop" would be followed by a string of swear words, coming from gramps bedroom. Evidently, gramps bottled it a bit too soon. So, be careful out there. Or not, and be on the evening news.
Finally quit raining, at least for awhile. Good morning everyone. The rain came down hard all day yesterday. We have a drainage canal out back and it's pretty high today.
Good morning everyone. Take care Chrissy and Holly. You too, Ike. You're a bad boy but if beer gives you pleasure and it's worth the risk then no one can judge you because we all make sketchy choices everyday in the name of pleasure. My weakness is sweets. I went to the health food store yesterday and bought all the makings for the organic fresh Kale Salad I eat everyday now, and a fresh Organic Whole Unprocessed Free-Range Chicken to roast, and 4 gallons of reverse osmosis filtered water, and…well….4 milk chocolate malt balls from the bulk bin. I just couldn't walk by those bulk bins and not give it a "little hug" even though I know that Sugar is the #1 killer . Scales are good this morning but in 3 days I'll bet it shows up. Just a finger tap away… Disclaimer: I'm not endorsing the watermark on this photo. Sounds risky to me. .
Update. I was all dressed and ready to head out, then something, God perhaps, told me "don't go". I decided to heed that inner voice warning, for once. So, no beer today.
Good morning everyone! Feeling somewhay better though I'm not too sure yet as I just woke up. Did wake up during the night coughing but not so long this time. I hope I can get out of my jammies today, getting tired of feeling like this. High of 61 and nothing on my agenda. Decided Im not going to unpack too much because I'm taking the same things basically back in 2 weeks. Just need to add my snowflake earring. Haven't read anything yet on here but hope Yvonne and Ken made it safely to their destinations.
Chaos. Wind and rain followed by more wind and rain. The Forth Road bridge is closed until the new year. I'm very glad we're not travelling anywhere this month
I've just been messaging with Yvonne, seems she missed her connection in Atlanta and they are rerouting her to LA, then to Spokane. She's at the airport in Detroit now. Long day for her! I'm tracking her, so will keep you posted although I may be in bed by the time she lands. See, Ken..another use of an iPad. Actually a pretty cool app...Find Friends, I'll probably see when her plane takes off! Should start a thread " Tracking Yvonne" @Bobby Cole ....are you following your wife.
I just looked at Friend Finder at 5:20 PM Pacific Time and she is at LAX, think from LA she goes to Spokane. Bet shes had her fill of airports today!
Good morning up at 6;30 am this morning feeling good and drinking coffee while I browse the deserted forum hallways, all is quiet apart from the odd snores from a few threads. Its cold and wet as usual but getting a bit warmer later up to nearly 50f evidently. Have a good day wherever whatever you are doing.
Good morning folks.. ..80mph winds in place at the moment here in the South and lots of weather warnings being issued...fortunately we don't have the floods here that has destroyed so many homes in the North of England in the last 24 hours . I can't imagine how heartbreaking that must be to lose all your possessions and your home be destroyed by filthy contaminated water from rivers and canals which have burst their banks . Anyway we're fortunate in that even if the floods came here we live on higher ground...but the flipside of that is that we feel the winds more when they're strong.. Autumn picture from the woods behind my house ... Today I'm gonna stay home, watch some junk tv...and give my back a rest before returning to the Pitface tomorrow.. Have a good day peoples...
Holly, have you ever seen the thread here called "A Place for Peace"? You might enjoy the music and images as you enjoy your peaceful rest today.
