Mornin all. It's 30 degrees here in the little city on Iowa's east bank. Clear skies presently, rain possible this pm. Well, Iowa hawks lost the big game last night, and I imagine that ruined the rest of the weekend for lots of people. Iowa's 12 game winning streak crashed and burned. Not me though. Never was much of a sports fan. I watched a movie called "Devil in a blue dress". Denzel Washington, Tom Sizemore, Jennifer Beals, Don Cheadle and others. I liked it. A good cast of actors, and it was set in 1948. Loved seeing all those old cars and furnishings. I would have felt right at home there. The movie featured a small sex scene with no real nudity, plenty of violence and bloodshed. No car chase scenes, so we didn't have the agony of seeing any great old cars crash and burn. So, it's Sunday morning and it's 4:30am. And, I'm still as thirsty as ever. I just might make that store run later today. So, behave, be careful and be happy.
It's funny you should mention snow Lara, as December here is usually much colder and a lot of snow on the ground, but it's unseasonably warm and wet and has been for the past few years . This is me (well wrapped up) out walking in a local park in December 2012 the last real winter here and around -12c (10f)
It sounds like the storms have moved south. We have clear skies, sunshine and mercifully no wind in Scotland this morning (well, at least this bit of Scotland). I'm not trying to alarm Terry with this photo, but Worcester appears to have been taken over by swans.
Lol it's not unusual Tom but that does look a tad deep At least my house is on top of a hill the highest point in Worcester
Good morning, folks! All is calm, where we are...a little overnight fog, on a quiet Sunday morning, and 21 degrees. Have a happy Sunday!
Good morning everyone! High of 64 today. Still woke up once during the night coughing but each day I feel better. @Holly Saunders , the woods behind your house are lovely....I love walking in the woods, maybe because I spent so much time in my childhood playing in them, one of my fondest memories. Yvonne made in to Spokane! Tomorrow I think is her son's operation. Still sending good thoughts. Hope everyone has a great Sunday!
Wow Holly 80 mph winds, no joke. I think that's hurricane force! I saw the flooding in the north, just awful. Glad you're south. Enjoy a lazy day.
Good morning everyone, up at 7am today, another warm day, at least for here it's 8c .... 45f damp but not raining, nothing much planned for today apart from cooking lunch/dinner whatever we call our one meal for the day. Had a lovely evening at the concert last night, will post photos in my diary thread. Have a great Monday everybody .
Good Morning Terry and all, Quite mild feeling this morning...(6.45am)...57 degrees..and the winds have settled down to 14 degrees according to the weather app. It's pitch dark still, and I'm just having a cuppa tea before getting ready for work...For the first time in weeks, nay months... I managed to sleep 8 hours last night almost uninterrupted. *I'd dance a little jig if my back would let me* I've hopefully got a fairly light day ahead of me today touch wood only 9 hours...and I'm working from home tomorrow...so hopefully not too much stress..LOL Have a good day everybody whatever you may be doing..
Good morning Terry, Holly and everyone. Does everyone in England say "touch wood" instead of "knock on wood"? This question is deep I "realize" or "realise".
Mornin all. We have 36 overcast degrees here in the corn belt at 4am. Supposed to hit 48+ later, unless we get hit by the freak blizzard I keep praying for. It's December, I'm in Iowa and the ground is brown and dry. That just ain't right. So, nothin much goin on with me. Just gonna stay home and avoid all the drama that goes on in buildings like mine. So, have a great day you all.
Yes I always say "Touch Wood" for luck, often touching my head if no wood is near to hand, I trust that puts your mind at rest Lara.
