The Ricardos and the Mertzes open a diner together, but can't agree, so they split it down the middle to see who gets the most business.
Andy Griffith's Favorite Restaurant: Snappy Lunch in Mt. Airy, NC - Off the Eaten Path I'll have a bowl of turtle soup....and make it Snappy!
There is a small family run Diner/café near here that serves a biscuit called the Catface Biscuit. The biscuit is as light and fluffy as the ones Mama used to make. It is a big as a cat's face, hence Catface Biscuit. It has a big piece of fried pork chop that has a crispy crust on it and a piece of hoop cheese that has melted. The pork chop is so tender that you don't even need your false teeth to bite it. The first time Grandpa bit into it, his false teeth wouldn't let it go. He had to take them out and pry them apart to eat that bite. The diner/café is real. The biscuit is real. I made up that part about Grandpa's false teeth....... but it could happen. I don't know if Andy ever ate one but he might have. It is not far from Raleigh and he would have driven by this town on his way to the coast.
When Chris Owens, of New Orleans stripper fame, had her place remodeled they found a few thousand bucks under the old slat floors. A lot of silver dollars, quarters and dimes dating back decades which also lent to the value of the whole find.
