Her daughter has a Clear South African accent too.... Hope you have a good time at the luncheon, it'll give you so much more to talk about...
Yes...I don't think they e been in Fresno or the states too long. Val did mention one day that she's not a US citizen...yet, anyway. Forget what the topic was....maybe passports? Lot of these ladies travel a lot!!!!
I just figured out something that I could do about the loud A/C unit across from our bedroom. Since it's not loud all the time, like right now as I write this, when it gets loud again, I will get my iPhone and take a video of it making the loud noises and show to our manager. A few minutes ago I told her about it in her office and then we walked over to the unit. When we first got to it, it was knocking just a little than completely stopped. I looked at the manager and said "figures!". She brought the maintenance supervisor over to it and it was just humming away like any other A/C unit would. So, next time, out will come the iPhone and it will be "video time". Thing is, where our apartment is in this complex, there is no sound at all. Like, really, really quiet at night...…….and that's one thing we will miss about living here, when we move. So, when there is noise, like this A/C unit, it can be heard by folks that are light sleepers, like myself. One last thing, this A/C is a new one.
Peak: just got back from the luncheon. It was fun! I sat across from a lady who lives in my neighborhood. Seems most of these women are pretty well off. The lady next to me is always traveling to faraway places. China, Japan, Her hubby who is 78 is in Peru climbing Machu Pichu. When he gets back they're going on an Australian cruise. I can't even remember half the places they've been. Anyway, she was Catholic but the lady across from me recommended two churches I might like. So I'll check those out eventually. The food was great, service was great considering the poor waiter had 28 orders to take and fill...we got our food quickly. I had Mahi Mahi tacos and they were delicious. I was probably the lightest eater there. I didn't sit by Val but she made it a point to introduce me and came and hugged when she got there and also when she left...she had to go back to Curves. I'm exhausted...I prepped for this luncheon like I was going on a first date with a guy, lol Anyway...I enjoyed it.
Well , you weren't gone for very long, but as long as you had fun, then it doesn't matter how long it was.. Glad you had a good time..
2 hrs for lunch is long enough It's only 1.5 miles from my house. The waiter was very efficient...when I saw the long tables of ladies I thought we'd be sitting there forever but not the case.
I will @Gloria Mitchell ....so far it's Curves every morning then the lunch every month....pretty sure The Great Wall of China isn't in my future.
Pit and Peak... Wow, she does live close....she's only seen me with full make up and hair down and nice. Curves is right next to Walgreens. She says she's walked there sometimes in the winter but she goes to a later class...maybe in the winter I might also.
Also a peak and a pit...in that empty area behind her house there's major construction going on...some condos and retail stores /plaza. It was rumored that a Whole Foods was going there but that hasn't been confirmed.
Another Peak: AT&T guy just left after exchanging my gateway box or whatever it's called...my internet shouldn't go out now. He was on time and quick... Now I'm going to UPS to mail back my Direct TV receiver and controls. That should be it for my issues with AT&T until I cancel my home month next month. Ive got to figure out my firestick for my bedroom TV still but shouldn't be hard...it's just in a hard place to get to and see what I'm doing.
Pit: Going to end up having laser cataract surgery in both eyes. Laser surgery is costly. Peak: Laser surgery is very efficient and recovery is much faster than regular cataract surgery. When it comes to cost, the old saying comes into play "you get what you pay for". Laser is expensive, but very, very good.
My wife had that done and she no longer needs glasses. In fact, her (our) daughter had that done as well, with even better results. The idea of laser surgery creeps me out though, but so does pretty much anything else they might want to do to my eyes. I'll stick with the glasses, though.
I'm going to need it eventually but I keep putting it off. My last eye exam my dr didn't mention it so neither did I.
