Done a thread about the Netflix Series, Grace & Franky, but now are watching another Series called The Ranch. Language and other crap in this as well. Is this what Netflix Original is all about?

Actually we didn't know The Ranch was stage comedy, in front of a live audience, in Burbank, CA. The opening scenes are filmed in Colorado, but the rest is filmed on a stage. We thought it was filmed on a fake ranch in Colorado. The cast is good, but the "F" word comes up quite often, just like in Grace & Franky. My wife told me, "if there is much more of this language, we are going to stop watching". I agreed.

There are very humorous parts of The Ranch, but all-in-all, seems rather stupid, just like Grace & Franky.

Wish they would go back to the days of 'Cheers' - great humour and characters with no bad language to spoil it
Its enough to make you swear

Unless someone is using those words and swearing at me, they really don't bother me. I don't swear but I can watch something that has swearing in it, unless it's constant.

I'm not going to miss out on a show that I like because they are swearing....it's just words.

Why is sh*t any worse than poop?

Or people who say "shoot" instead of sh*t...everyone knows they mean "sh*t.

Perhaps in days now gone by, swearing wasn’t considered to be good vocabulary for the gentleman and most certainly not for the ladies.
A gentleman Never swore in front of a lady or a child because it was considered to be roguish and crude.
And the ladies? Swearing cast a certain type of uh, shall we say, unrefined tenor upon the female for which no gentleman of good virtue would marry.

Yes but just because I don't swear doeant mean I'm not going to watch something that is a good movie just because there is swearing in it...I tune it out.

These are movies, not real life. There's a lot of things in them I don't condone or like. Murder, rape, cheating, stealing etc.

The only time I use a swear word (and it is only one - don't like variety) is when I'm angry over something
It shouldn't be part of everyday language, but it is and it either grates on ya or it doesn't - no right or wrong on that :)

It only grates on me when some comedians like Eddie Murphy would use it every sentence.

I say Jeez a lot which is probably a shortened version of Jesus Christ.

    My parents never swore...never!

Not even in Hungarian...I didn't know any Hungarian swear words until I asked my husband...there's quite a few and they're more imaginative than the American ones, lol.

I can tune everything out though...babies crying on airplanes, people, talking loudly, swearing, etc.

Only thing that I can't tune out is SNORING!

I can listen to the F word all night as opposed to someone snoring next to me.

Cussing is definitely overdone, and often it seems that it's used only because they can. In movies, they are used in order to get an "R" rating because, at least at one time, R-rated movies did better than "G" or "PG" rated movies. That may also be the reason for the obligatory sex scene.

I can't think of which of them are produced by Netflix at the moment, but I know that I have seen some good movies and series from Netflix, although I haven't watched "The Ranch" or "Grace & Franky." A comedy has to be pretty good to get my attention, so I rarely watch comedies unless they were recommended, star people who I've liked in other things, or have something else that gets my attention.

Well, there are those that simply don't like hearing a lot, or even any, swearing in a movie or tv show. And, there are movies and tv shows that don't have any in them. If it doesn't bother you, that's entirely up to you, but to many others, it's can be totally different. A movie we have, Snow Dogs, doesn't have any swearing at all, then again, in the movie To Paris With Love, we also have, John Travolta says the "F" word quite a bit. We don't like hearing it, but like him and the movie.

I like movies without swearing in them also. :)

What I'm saying it's not an issue for me unless it's constant or just too much.

Well, it's happening more and more in Grace & Franky as well as The Ranch. In The Ranch, it's Sam Elliott that's got the language the most. When we start noticing too much of it, then, to us, there is too much of it.
