Great ! Maybe we will get both , too, since I am just “next door” to you in Alabama. From everything that Chrissy has said, I would love shopping at a Trader Joe’s ! Edit to add: It appears there is one store in Alabama, and that is in Birmingham; but people have been requesting one for Huntsville. However, both prospective locations are at the high-dollar shopping centers, and not anywhere that I would be likely to go shopping , for sure not on a regular basis. Plus, neither location is close to me. Whole Foods is the closes store that is health-oriented, and I do shop there occasionally, although they are pretty expensive for my budget.
They are free as @Yvonne Smith mentioned, in fact the carts are all by the entrance in our stores so you don't have to go anywhere, just take your bags out and get your coin back, or swap the cart with someone. The staff in our store are very friendly and seem happy, and the big attraction of course is the low cost. They also do a good range of garden shrubs and bedding plants plus cheap booze I don't know about job description laws here, but it seems to work OK, and the pay is above the national average evidently.
Afternoon folks... Can't make it's mind up here weather wise...warm but cloudy with some sun.... Over the weekend we got all the paths, fences and sheds etc power washed out back...gotta do the front drive later in the week... Nothing else much to report... Hope you're all having a good start to the week...
Good Morning! @Yvonne Smith I had my Honey take this picture on Sunday morning before I dropped him off at work. As you can see the JA tubers you sent us have now grown taller than me. They seem to like Louisiana weather just fine and we are hoping next month to start seeing the flower blooms on them. My SIL got stung by a wasp on the back of his head on Saturday and he had such a bad allergic reaction to it that he had to be rushed to the Emergency Room. After 3 shots they were able to get things under control and send him home but he will be on Prednisone, Zrytec, and something else for a week...and from now on he has to have an EpiPen with him at all times. I can tell you that this incident scared the heck out of him and he will make sure he has that EpiPen with him. We are so thankful he is alright. It's a brand new week and I hope it's a good one for everyone.
Wow, those are tall @Babs Hunt! How awful and scary for your SIL! My son was slightly allergic to bee stings when he was young but not bad enough for a trip to ER. Don't know if he still is though.
The sunchokes are looking great, @Babs Hunt ! They should be getting ready to bloom soon. I was checking mine the other day, and I think I am starting to see where they are getting ready to make buds. Sounds like a scary experience for you SIL with the wasps. Do you have a lot of them this year ? Someone was writing about wasps in one of my Idaho Facebook groups, and the described it as the “invasion from hell” because they were so bad up there this year. They were asking if it might be due to all of the forest fires raging in the northwest states and Canada.
@Babs Hunt , that's a lovely photo... you always looks so beautiful.. My ex B-I-L 6 feet 6''.. used to run like a child from wasps, because he had such an allergic reaction to them. In those days there was no EpiPens available...
Good morning (at least it's morning here in the Sonoran Desert....) Currently 101F and sunny. Getting ready to visit the oral surgeon - had a few things done last week, so this is just a follow up. Sucks to get old.
Just got back from celebrating my daughter's 35th birthday (the one sitting next to me with the blond hair)...it's so nice when we can get together no matter what the reason. The only one missing is my oldest daughter who was teaching today and could not meet us for lunch. And yes @Yvonne Smith the wasps have been bad this year and unfortunately we almost all have to have the EpiPens in my family. Thanks for the compliment @Holly Saunders...you are always so sweet. And @Chrissy Cross I'm really glad your family doesn't have to worry about allergic reactions from wasp or bee stings being life threatening. It's a scary thing for sure.
Good morning. It is 12:42 am and I am going to bed. Tomorrow, I have some things to do in Bangor and my wife and I will also see a movie while we're there so I won't be around much. I'll probably log in at some point from my cell phone but I don't generally post much when I do that. Otherwise, I'll see you sometime in the early evening.
Good Morning all.... Oh that looks like a nice venue @Babs Hunt , I hope you all had a great time... Happy Belated birthday to your daughter from me... @Ken Anderson ..how far is Bangor ( not the Irish one obviously).. from you? The town of Bangor in Ireland is over 450 miles from here... .. have a lovely day out both of you.. I had a really rubbish sleep last night.. coughed solidly for about 3 hours.. caused my hiatus hernia to react badly..and gave me the headache from hades.. I feel really tired now... delivery man has just been with a new Iphone Upgrade... for hubs , but he's at work so maybe I should open it up and have a play... ...
I thought about going to the one in Ireland, but I decided the one in Maine would be closer, about 65 miles. There’s an interesting story there. When Bangor, Maine was founded, it was supposed to be named Queen City. They sent some Irish immigrant off to the capital to file the incorporation and, along the way, and all on his own, he decided to incorporate it as Bangor instead. They're still mad about that.
