So...... here we are, two years later.......and I am still fussing about my hair. During the intervening time, I have had my hair permed (twice, in fact), colored it a bluish shade to get out the yellow (and turned out an electric blue in parts of my hair), and eventually put in the lavender color that I was looking at when I started this thread. The lavender was okay, but faded out to some kind of a wierd pale orange in the back for some reason, and even the purple shampoo is not getting rid of it back there. Plus, I didn’t get the pretty fluffy curls I wanted with the permanents, just hair that sticks out all of the time and looks wild (not in a nice way). I really wanted to let my hair grow out and get long again, but with all of the stuff that is happening with it right now, I am just tired of the whole thing, and tomorrow.......... I am getting a haircut ! It is going to be a little shorter, and a layered cut, kind of like the shag style . It should be easy for me to take care of, and will still be fluffy around my face like I like. Here is a picture of what it is going to be cut like.
@Yvonne Smith, as fond as you are of swimming, I would think short hair would be the way to go. My wife wanted to put lavender in her hair too, but I ridiculed her out of the idea.
I am glad that Bobby never does that with me ! I would be totally broken-hearted if he ridiculed my ideas. It was fun while it lasted; but now I am back to plain white hair again (although for some reason, I am starting to get some new dark hairs again ? )
Have you perchance increased your copper intake. I have been told that increasing copper in your diet will sometimes bring back hair color.
Totally anecdotal, @Ken Anderson. I have just heard reports that this works, but not for everyone. Didn't work when I tried it, but the husband of a coworker tried it and it worked for him...but not for his wife. Genetic factor maybe?
The ladies like to play and if it’s with their hair, so be it. In my case, I know my wife dislikes a mustache but I have one because I like it. If she wanted pink hair with solid black polka dots, it’s all good because I didn’t marry her for her hair, I married her for what is under it and the beauty contained therein.
It is now all cut and styled, and will be much easier for me to take care of. It still seems funny not to have that hair all over the back of my head, and it feels like it is pinned up, but it is not. My head is so much lighter feeling, too. I am glad that I did this !
Congrats on the new hair do Yvonne! Glad you like it. I've been thinking about cutting mine super short, maybe with spikes. I figure I might as well try it. It will grow out in no time if I don't like it, cause my hair is short anyway. I'm tired of bangs.
