My Christmas shopping is easy peasy...older grandsons get gift cards. Younger ones ...son sends me their Amazon wish list and I pick and click.
Mine too... daughter never wants anything, she says, keep the money until she moves house and then I'll maybe get you to buy me something for the new place .. ..so I send her something small and kep a little account for her future house gift , and she's happy with that. Hubs never wants anything, he hates Christmas ... but I love to buy for him, so if I buy a few things, and give him to him one at a time on days before or after Christmas.. unwrapped..no fancy gift wrapping, then he'll accept them just as ''gifts''... What a pallaver, *sigh* but he'll only do it because he knows how much pleasure I get from buying gifts and I miss buying gifts for the family... otherwise he would, and has done in the past, get annoyed and refuse to accept a gift if I give it to him with due Christmas ceremony and cheer!!!
Well that was easy Christmas shopping. One X-Box gift card, one Lego set, and a Starbucks gift card. One family down, two to go.
October 1st already....this year is just flying by. In our City we don't actually get a lot of leaves changing into the beautiful colors of Fall, we mostly get acorns falling all over the place. Up where my sister lives in Georgia, the leaves do change color and from the pictures she sends me it is a beautiful time thing to see and I hope one day I do get to see it in more than just the pics. When I had lunch with my middle daughter yesterday she told me that our granddaughter's High School will be having their Homecoming not this Friday but next (the 12th) and our granddaughter will be singing the National Anthem at the game. So we will be going to see her do that and watch the Homecoming game at her High School. Several of the young people in our families have beautiful voices and one of our Nephews even tried out for American Idol at one time. One of the things I do enjoy about Christmas is when our older grandkids decide to sing Christmas songs together...they sound wonderful singing in harmony with each other and then when we all join in the songs it becomes a memory to hold close in our hearts and cherish. May your week be filled with memories to cherish and may you be blessed with healing in your bodies and joy in your hearts.
Our electricity went out about an hour ago and I looked outside and it seems to be out in our whole neighborhood...
Morning all... It's a beautiful Sunny morning albeit chilly 57 deg f according to the temp gauge in my car , but nice and warm under the sun in the garden.... I've just got back from the Marina where our boat is moored, it's all lovely and quiet and looking pretty down there... Many people getting their boats ready for a predicted harsh winter tho'... I've just fed the wood pigeons their peanuts, they know every morning at the same time there will be some for them.. and again in the early evening. The other birds, the sparrows, blue-tits etc, already have theirs in feeders... Have a Good first of October folks...
Crisp here, @Gloria Mitchell. 24 F. this morning. The leaves here are mostly gone, but we witnessed a beautiful sunset of a local lake last night. Sunsets last much longer the further north (or south) from the equator you go due to refraction and diffusion of the sunlight through the atmosphere.
We are back in town now, and today has been a lazy day for me and a working one for Lisa the university is not a good place to work in these days, with all the managers inventing various projects. I came across a few photos of the previous apple harvest a couple of years ago Have a good Monday...
No Holly the builder is due to start this coming weekend, but he hasn't got back to us yet with a final quote, so we are not holding our breath, it's common here in Russia for builders to be very enthusiastic and spend lots of time discussing the job with you, then disappearing off the face of the earth
Good morning everyone! Got our new smart phone set up yesterday and already started receiving texts. And I found a large app keyboard that my husband is able to see well enough to send his own texts on too. He sent out his first text yesterday and was excited when his friend answered right away. The talk text we tried did not work to well as it just didn't seem to clearly hear what he would say but I noticed there are quite a few talk text apps so we will try different ones and see if any of them work well enough for him to use. I just caught this pic of one of our hummingbirds through the blind in our livingroom as I was signing in to post. They just are so darn cute ...but it's really hard to take their picture when they aren't standing still. We are going to get our flu shots tomorrow and get that done early this year as there have already been a few flu cases here. Have a blessed day!
