I did threaten the clock with a trip to Heathrow Airport but it, like the guards at Buckingham Palace, didn’t budge. Actually, I visited Manchester on a business trip many years ago which was nice, but I would definitely like to take Yvonne to London or thereabouts some day just for a real vacation. I even have a couple of nephews (whom I have never met) who hail from that region. Oh and yes, we both have some internet friends (Patsy and yourself included of course) whom we’d like to finally meet.
Good morning and Happy Halloween! High of 75 today which is nice for the trick or treaters. Right now I just finished cleaning up for my once a month cleaners....after they leave I have to run some errands. I didn't put my name on the candy map so hope I don't get anybody, can't deal with Pickles barking every time the doorbell rings...I did buy some peanut butter cups just in case though....should have gotten something I don't Like because I'll eat it all like I did last year, lol. I used to love Halloween but not by myself. The nearest grandsons are too old and the little ones are too far away, although I've been there a few time specifically for Halloween....they do it differently in Edwardsville. Yesterday the kids went trick or treating and today is the Big Parade...it's quite impressive with lots of decorated floats etc...and candy being thrown to the kids. Hope their weather cooperates as I see rain later. Have a great Wednesday everyone.
4 F. this morning. We don't normally get trick-or-treaters here as we are in the boonies, but there some new houses down the road, so we may get some today and have to be prepared. If we don't get any, I will be forced to do away with the excess candy and stuff. We are having a candyless Halloween party here since one of the grandkids is a type I diabetic, but it will be on Sunday when all the parents are off work. The sun is now coming up and it is almost 10:00 AM. Happy Halloween to everyone, and a Blessed All Saints and All Souls Day(s) as well!
Um, good afternoon actually... A very rainy and much cooler day. Sleepy weather, specially if you have been up since 4 am. Even more rain later today and tonight, soaky for the Halloweenie people. This weather and the holiday remind me of .. well, I am about to go write about under my Blast of the Past for Me thread.
Looks like you are sending the rain over our direction, @Gloria Mitchell , and we are supposed to have thunderstorms starting early tomorrow morning, and lasting most of the day. Then we get the colder weather once the rain is gone, too. Leaves have started turning color and falling now, so winter is definitely on its way here.
The first day of November! I am sure glad that you guys reminded me because the stores sure don’t. They’ve been selling stuff for Halloween, Vets Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Eve for the last couple of months. The local hardware store has even been trying to sell a kids snow sled for 6 months now. Other than the above, it is indeed a good day to be alive! The wind is blowing, a storm is on the horizon but still, I’ve been given another day to try and get it right. Happy July 4th! uh.....that’s right...it’s November. July 4th stuff comes out in January.........
Good morning! 78 for a high today. Happy November 1st! This is my favorite time of year...the weather, the holidays...I'm feeling pretty good these days...knock on wood! Hope everyone has a great day! Mine is busy with errands.
Glad to hear that! (in red above) I am also and if my right eye turns out the same as my left eye, I'll be feeling great.
0 F. for the first time this season when we arose this morning. We are sleeping downstairs for the time being as my lovely wife is painting our bedroom and doesn't want to reconstruct everything only to move things again to paint. Fortunately, we have plenty of room since our six children have moved on to their own lives. I know @Cody Fousnaugh is anxious to get back into the cold, and I hope his "new eyes" will allow him to enjoy the environment!
