Whilst I would like to believe that I truly possess it though oft suspected of wandering about, my sanity is indeed the most prized, or at least it is until I lose it again.

Let's see, my most prized possession is my memory, that even my wife sometimes gets shocked about.

A few little odds and ends that have a connection to family and friends.

In the end, it's all just stuff without the memories that I attach to each object.

My hearing... I have extremely acute hearing and sense of smell. The hearing is heaven sent because I come from a long line of profoundly deaf on my paternal side.. including some siblings... . I can literally hear a pin drop in the next room if it's quiet ... , I hope that will remain the same as long as I live especially as my husband has next to no sense of smell and because of his job, his hearing is very poor now... If I wasn't here he wouldn't smell a gas leak, now would he be able to smell food that had gone bad!!

Materialistically... the photos of my daughter and my long deceased mother as well as my daughters' medals, and certificates from her childhood for winning all sorts of sports and achieving many top exam results , none of which she's interested in keeping, so I would hate to part with those..

What about you Sir Walter ?

Sir Walter, you ask such difficult questions, but I appreciate them. They make me think.

I'm sitting here trying to pretend my house burned down and what would I miss, other than my cat, and I can't think of anything!

Maybe a hand made, solid wood, bedroom set? It's not even that old.

If there was a fire I'd never be able to catch my cat. Whenever I rush around she always hides, because she's not used to that, and it scares her. LOL

Pictures of my grandparents and baby pictures of my children. Everything else can be replaced or reproduced. The pictures can not.

My Sanity; my Happiness; my Self. I don't possess the people or even the animals that I love. Despite the intensity of my love for them, in reality they are chapters in our individual stories. That is a lesson I wish I had learned when I became His Widow.

On the lighter side! My original Little Lulu and Nancy Drew Collections; my collection of British Pop Magazines from the early sixties; my 45 single records with original covers so maybe my son can make a buck if they are worth anything; my collection of Ramparts Magazines so the truth of those times won't die; and lastly but not leastly the religious items my Grandma gave to me that were so close to her heart and the hordes of photographs I must organize to leave to my son and his son with the knowledge of who the heck these people were!
