on the 19th I'm going to the Curves Christmas luncheon at the country club here ....they do a $10 gift exchange...kind of a white elephant but with nice gifts not gag. I'm hoping to find something that's more expensive but on sale...any ideas? Most of the ladies are around my age ....some younger and some older but not by much.
Good ideas @Beatrice Taylor! Didn't think of either one. I was thinking a candle but that's so overdone. I'm such a perfectionist that this is putting a lot of pressure on me, lol. This is my first year so don't even know from previous years.... I do know that you just wrap it and don't put to or from on it and it can be traded twice.
Here's an idea if you shop online or it's a store that you can get to easily. Check out their website. Browse through sale and clearance items keeping in mind something that you would like. I've participated in white elephant exchanges both gag gifts and not but I never gave a gag gift it was always something that I would like to get. Shopping online wasn't happening then so I went to drugstores close buy after looking through the store flyers and always found something that I liked and affordable. Sometimes I could combine two gifts that totalled the alloted amount set for the gift exchange and I wasn't the only one that had that thought.
Thanks @Von Jones ....unless it's Prime I may not have enough time to shop online but I do have many stores near me. I just hate to go to them...not a shopper. I should have looked on Black Friday, I was out but didn't feel like looking then...thinking I had enough time. I always put things like this off to the last minute.
Ive come to realize that you are exactly right...I fret and worry about everything but I always get it done in the end.
How about a bottle of wine. This is not a great wine but it is fun at this time of year and it is inexpensive.
Where I live it is available in retail liquor stores at holiday time. Each state is different, I don't know how alcohol is sold in California. It's a California wine and I think it is bottled by John Wesley Wine Co.
You can buy alcohol anywhere in California.... I'll take a look next time I go out. I haven't bought wine in years....hope I'm not carded, lol Actually it would make my day if I was....would make my whole year.
