We went out the our usual place where we do ballroom dancing last night for NYE it was a great night full of laughter / fun / dancing enjoying the company of our friends from 7 Pm to 12.30 am The night cost us $3 each + the raffle . Special functions always include a fundraising raffle which costs $2 for 5 tickets Normal weekly dances don’t include raffles, but with our entry fee of $3 each a door ticket is given and if your lucky you win a good quality Bar of chocolate Last night I won the major prize of this ,however I have never drank alcohol ,I’d imagine this bottle would have a few headaches in it being 20% Alc hubs rarely drinks any alcohol and if he dose it’s a light beer but he didn’t even have a drink over Christmas / new year so I guess my prize will sit in the cupboard till we find someone who likes it to pass it on I’ve got no idea of the value but it would have to be at a guess $30..$40
Congratulations to you, Kate! You should be 'Russian' to crack it open and drink to the New Year! You can be sensible later!
Mix it with some cream or half-and-half and have a White Russian. I also love Kahlua poured over butter pecan or butter almond ice cream. That would be a prize I'd love to get!
Hope you find the perfect recipient of your prize - nice to win something, hopefully a good start to the new year for you x I won a raffle once at Bingo - it was a joint of pork ! (I don't like pork - passed it on)
Congratulations...even though you don’t drink. Only time Ive won anything it was a prize I didn’t want.....I won a cake when I was dieting, lol. I gave it away to someone else at the table.
@Kate Ellery .... I do like this in coffee on a cold morning. And can be used in other areas like the above posts mentioned. There is one called White Russian... do not know how this one would taste as a white Russian.
The last thing I won was a peach pie at the bluegrass jam night at the Occidental Hotel in Buffalo, Wyoming a few years ago. I won it for being the person farthest from home. The jam night was marvelous; the peach pie was awful.
Congrats on your win! Even if we can't use the prize...I'm sure it won't be to hard to find someone who can.
