Yeah, his life story never made sense. He really wasn't eligible to be President according to the Constitution, but anyone who brought it up was shouted down as a racist or a bigot, or a ..."birther".

Let's see now. We'd better be careful here.
Obama's grandmother told the press that he was born in Kenya and I believe she died shortly afterward.
Joe Arpaio said he would prove without a shadow of a doubt that Obama was born outside of the U.S.A. and shortly after his much publicized statement was convicted of contempt of court because he kept on detaining suspected illegal immigrants after being ordered not to.

Coincidence or is there some dastardly conspiracy afoot?

In the first edition of one of his books, Obama is described as having been born in Kenya.

    @Ken Anderson
IF he was born in Kenya of a Kenyan father, as has been alleged all along, KENYAN LAW demands that the newborn have Kenyan citizenship.

Whatever the truth is, it's now too late, the harm has been done...........to the Country, Constitution, and who knows what-all else.

That was 1:03 I'll never get back. Regardless of where Obama was born, his mother by virtue of the 14th and 19th amendments was an American citizen, therefore he is an American Citizen. As to the term natural born... while it has never been addressed by SCOTUS, it is generally acknowledged that anyone not having to go through the naturalization process is considered natural born. Meaning born on U.S. soil (jus soli) or gaining citizenship by birth (jus sanguinis).

The latter being a factor for Ted Cruz, George Romney, John McCain and Barry Goldwater. Of course, none of those became president... not because of some distorted idea of "natural" birth, but rather lack of votes.

That's two days in a row, Ken, that you have used old news and recycled it as new. The article you reference is from 2014. Trump has eclipsed as the worst, and Obama has recently risen to among the best. Read it and weep. I don't want to think you did this deliberately, but like with Chik fil a merely made a mistake.

"The referenced poll was real, but it was not “new” or “recent”: the poll was conducted by Quinnipiac University and released on 2 July 2014, information which was rarely (if ever) noted in mid-2018 postings about it. Also unnoted was the fact that the same independent polling site conducted a poll on the same question in March 2018 (which as of June 2018 would actually be considered “new” and “recent”) and found that Donald Trump had eclipsed Barack Obama as the worst president since World War II..........
When Quinnipiac University polled American voters on the same question in March 2018, two months before blogs and pundits regurgitated the 2014 poll as “recent,” they found that voters believed Donald Trump had far surpassed Barack Obama as worst president since World War II:

Donald Trump is the worst of the 13 presidents who have served since the end of World War II, 41 percent of American voters say, followed by 21 percent who list Barack Obama and 10 percent who cite Richard Nixon, in a Quinnipiac University National Poll released today.

Looking at the best president since 1945, 28 percent say Ronald Reagan. Another 24 percent list Barack Obama, with 10 percent each for Bill Clinton and John Kennedy"

I guess that depends on who you ask and who is asking the questions. When polling people call me, their questions are skewed to get the answers they want. If they asked me if I thought Bill Clinton was the best president, my reply would be; "Abso-damn-lutely not!"

We shall have to wait and see how President Trump rates in another eight or ten years. It ain't over yet.

Are you suggesting that Obama has become a better president in the last couple of years?

Believe this or not Ken, I have respect for you. I am not suggesting, but outright saying you have shown a lack of candor in posting this thread if you were aware it was completed nearly 5 years ago and the situation has changed.

"......the same independent polling site conducted a poll on the same question in March 2018 ...and found that Donald Trump had eclipsed Barack Obama as the worst president since World War II..........Looking at the best president since 1945, 28 percent say Ronald Reagan. Another 24 percent list Barack Obama...Looking at the best president since 1945, 28 percent say Ronald Reagan. Another 24 percent list Barack Obama, with 10 percent each for Bill Clinton and John Kennedy".

Obviously, Obama has not been president 'in the last couple of years.' Also obvious is, if you choose to believe this polling organization enough to quote them, you will admit the table has turned on this issue and you're not in the mood to admit it. We each have our own opinions, but a society can't function with different facts. If Obama was the worst president for you, that's fine by me, go for it.

After Obama appointed Timothy Geithner Secretary of the Treasury of the United States, of all things, it was soon revealed Geithner owed something like $ 50,000 in back income tax.........good thinking, give a crook control over the country's currency.

Appointment of Eric Holder as Attorney General of the United States, the very highest Law Enforcement position in the land, resulted in his being indicted for illegally and knowingly spending public funds to "straw purchase" hundreds of Assault Style Firearms here in the States, then illegally transporting them across the border into Mexico, where they were distributed (perhaps sold?) to a wide variety of unsavory characters, who, he presumed, would enter the States illegally with some of those weapons, be apprehended, and subsequently be used as shining examples why further restrictive controls of firearms were absolutely necessary.

Two enviable examples......were either convicted? Of course not. In Holder's case, he at first declared utter lack of knowledge of the program, which our officious leaders dubbed "Operation Fast and Furious".

"Gunwalking", or "letting guns walk", was a tactic of the Arizona Field Office of the United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), which ran a series of sting operations[2][3] between 2006[4] and 2011[2][5] in the Tucson and Phoenix area where the ATF "purposely allowed licensed firearms dealers to sell weapons to illegal straw buyers, hoping to track the guns to Mexican drug cartel leaders and arrest them"
As a result of a dispute over the release of Justice Department documents related to the scandal, Attorney General Eric Holder became the first sitting member of the Cabinet of the United States to be held in contempt of Congress on June 28, 2012 in a vote along party lines in a controlled House."
    See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ATF_gunwalking_scandal

Holder I believe resigned amidst scandalous circumstances.

History will tell the tale, but I think Clinton will eventually be the worst President in recent times, followed by Carter and Obama in 3rd. Johnson would rate up there if you want to go back that far. If it weren't for Watergate, Nixon would be smiled upon, as would Truman and Reagan from historical perspective. Both Bushes will be ignored and Trump is still unknown.

If a poll were taken in my neighborhood asking if I was a pretty stand-up individual, the consensus would undoubtedly be about 70% against me.
The reason? About 70% of the neighborhood is involved with drugs in one form or another and I am vehemently and very vocally against the use of illegal drugs.

Polls are useful but it depends on the control group involved and how the questions are presented.
A Yes or No question such as, “do you still beat your wife” proposed to a grouping of Catholic priests would garner the answer that at some time or other, 100% of them used to beat their wives.

I personally believe that Obama does fare an equal rating with Carter as the least proficient presidents in the history of the U.S. but thus far, none of the pollsters have even asked me much less asked why I feel that way.
I guess I am just not worthy of being polled.
