The advertising screens are quite beautiful here, the woman with the parasol is gently animated, lovely.
Good morning everyone! Our weather is similar to yours Holly and I'm loving it. Usually we are too warm at Christmas time. This is the closest we will get to a white Christmas.....a Grey Christmas. I got to wear vests and scarves this week from years ago that are brand new because it's been too warm. Haven't been able to wear my Uggs for the past 2 years either. Today Will be a stay inside day til daughter gets home from work, then out for food for Christmas. Will rest up today for the remainde of the hectic week. On my iphone app that measures steps I've averaged walking 5 miles every day just shopping. I can always tell when I've been at my daughters when I look at the month chart. The peaks correspond with the times I'm here, lol. Hope everyone has a great day!
A quick hello from Frankfurt, all going well see you all tomorrow a couple of pics it's a bit busier here
Good morning from the UK my home for a few weeks now, the flights back yesterday went well and I have gone back 3 hours in time. Its nearly 8 am here and a mild damp morning, must rush around a bit today getting some Christmas presents and food. Have a great day everyone, not long till the Christmas holiday now.
Good morning to you all from a very windy England, had a pretty flat day yesterday so achieved very little, so it's going to be a frantic Christmas eve now with last minute shopping, and some cooking towards tomorrows festivities. I would join you in a beer Ike if you were a bit closer, but will think of you anyway, I stocked up yesterday and drank a couple of bottles, but it didn't help my mood or my jet lag Have a great day everybody on the eve of the big day of celebrations.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good morning! We seem like leaves, blowing in a gray wind....except for you, Lara....you are your usual chipper self! I have been trying to post an entry for today, in "Hello December", but for some reason, am unable. Terry, you leap into adventure, at the drop of a ushanka! With all the crowded airport pictures on the news, it is very strange to see an empty one. Chrissy, I agree with Holly, try not to kill yourself. Ike, they want to "give you a dinner"...go and enjoy! Holly, stay away from the "workhouse" and relax. God Bless us, everyone!
Guess I should officially say a good mornin', rather than crabbin' 'bout stuff I have no control over. So, Good mornin', or dobré ráno in the tongue of my granddad. Slept a solid 7 hours last night. I should be all rested and feelin great. I do feel rested and I feel good, just not in the best mood. I think it's because it's Christmas. I just want it over with. New years too. Never did celebrate New years much. Sometimes I had to work. One of my best Christmas's was the one of 1945 Christmas of 1945 was one I'll never forget. I was 5 years old then but I have no memory of my dad or my uncles before the summer of 1945. My memory didn't kick in until I was about 4, it seems. That summer dad, a stranger to me, came to live with us and a whole lot of strange men were coming by to visit. Dad left to fight in WW2 sometime after the Pearl Harbor attack. So did two of dad's three brothers and two brother-in-laws. Dad and one brother were in the army air corps as the air force was called then. They were both stationed at a base in Mendlesham England. A B-17 bomber base. Dad's other brother was navy, seeing action in the Pacific. A brother-in-law was also navy and the other was infantry. He saw much action. D day, battle of the bulge to name a few. And he helped liberate the death camps. He never quite got over that. Anyway, the day before Christmas we were all getting the old house ready for dad's first Christmas at home since the war ended. Christmas day was one of food, drink, laughter and gifts. I got acquainted with all my 'new' uncles, their wives or girlfriends, and they gave me lots of neat stuff. Things like sailor hats, badges, a pair of military handcuffs, aircraft ID books, a canvas cartridge belt, canteen and more. I was sure I died and went to heaven. A lot of Christmas's have passed since those days.
Good morning, still dark and raining here. Rain all day which is good. Hope everyone has a great Christmas Eve. Just took this pic this morning .....it's quiet.
Good Morning everyone from London on Christmas Day 2015....where there's no snow...boooooo....LOL.. I've been absolutely mega Busy at work to the point of sheer exhaustion this year. I did have yesterday off but I was sooo tired, and I still had to get the food and the house prepared for today. Hubs is poorly, he got a big infection caused by a cyst on his head, and like a typical man he let it go to far before seeing the doctor and the poison had seeped in and now he's on really strong anti-Bees.. he's slept for 2 days almost constantly..although he did manage to get out of bed last night for a while...so I really had no time and tbh inclination, to come online ..so I have a lot of reading to catch up on what you've all been doing for the last few days.. Santa has been to this house already, I think I told you I got an Ipad Air 2 with a congnac coloured real leather case , and a Paperwhite Kindle , I got chocolates and cake, and sweets from my clients ( I'm teetotal so I never get alcohol)...and I got 2 box Eau de Parfum sets...Calvin Klein Eternity and CK, Eternity Now... My daughter will call from Spain today as she always does on Christmas day...we won't be going out at all today, just gonna sit and relax and watch some Christmas tv, and eat all the food I made yesterday...Leg of Lamb for Dinner... and all the veggies...nice and quiet day... Back to work on Monday... Have a wonderful Christmas day everyone, whatever you're doing..
Good morning and merry Christmas y'all, from ol' Iowa Ike. No snow but our temps are getting more winter-like. Highs for the next week and beyond are supposed to only be in the 20-30 range. My college son, a daughter and sil came by for a nice visit yesterday. Got some bad news concerning my X wife's husband, and some troubling news about X wife. Won't go into that at this time. So, we all made it another Christmas. For that, I'm thankful and happy. Behave yourselves on this Christmas day. No one wants to have to bail someone out of jail today. Hey, it has happened.
We have had a wonderful Christmas morning, enjoying the music and opening presents. Our oldest Daughter will be stopping by this afternoon, and our youngest one will visit tomorrow. We are loving the "no snow" mode. I believe I saw a cobweb on my snow shovel! Enjoy the day, to it's fullest!
Good Morning everyone, Another grey start to the day here, damp and gloomy....someone clearly stole the sun from December here in the UK... First day of the Sales here where the whole world it would seem, feels it's life threatening NOT to race to the shops and grab a cheap Iron or next years boxed christmas presents for 6 penece off the RRP... and risk getting killed in the rush..LOL.....some people have been queuing all night to be first in the queue for a few bits of clothing or a poor quliaty flat screen TV reduced by 30%....NUTS I tell you... Not me..I'm staying put, the roads will be Manic..the shops will be even more Manic....and I want to keep my body parts all in one piece... Have a good day folks
