I am not a fan of her politics but I do admire her youthful idealism. I also pity her naivete. Like so many others who have gone to Washington, she actually thinks that she can make a difference. And like them, she will soon face disillusionment. The Democrat establishment will soon have her toeing the party line. She will learn to go along to get along. Or they will find ways to get rid of her. The old guard is already unhappy with some of the things she has said.

I predict that she will conform to the party line or not be re-elected. She only won the election because the majority of her constituents are Hispanic. She will have to wait until Hispanics make up the majority of voters across the country to forward her agenda.

"Get outta the new road if you can't lend a hand.........for the Times, they are a CHANGIN."

I can't predict the future, I do know she'll probably outlive all of us. She will be around; we, with our desires to control what is no longer ours, won't.

Her idea of socialism/communism will not fly when people learn what it is like ask the immigrants that fled Cuba how well the system works. I have visited Cuba a few times the last time was on my sail boat. And got to meet the real people not the ones in the tourist areas. Getting a ride to town or back to the marina we would not take a taxi but just stand at the road and someone would stop and ask do you want a ride there would be a fee but it was cheaper than a taxi. Everyone that gave us a ride was either a doctor or engineer and explained that they have to do this to afford a car. When in a little bar by the marina we would watch people with binoculars watching the people working on the boats at first I thought it was security but found out after it was to make sure that the men were not getting tips from the boater because they would have to share them.

Take money from someone who works hard for it and give it to someone who does not want to work. That is socialism/communism lets have someone who makes $200,000 a year tell us how good it is.

Once upon a time, Socialism and Communism were both tried right here in the U.S.
In the 60’s-70’s people all over started living in communes whereby everything was shared and generally had a single leader to direct traffic but suddenly, those folks in the communes grew up and endorsed capitalism. (Makes a great bedtime story) :)

Cortez, Bernie and others simply want all of us poor folks to have what all the wealthy folks have but the unfortunate thing is that the wealthy just do not wish to give up what they have worked for. Darned wealthy people!
I think that everyone who gets more money than I do per month should either be taxed at least 90% or be forced to hand the difference over to me and ask for forgiveness for not thinking of me whilst they made their money.
Then, if the climate changers do not wish to give up their gas guzzling, vapor trail spewing private jets, they should at least give me one so I can make as much of a dent in the atmosphere as they do.
Hmmmm.....I might need flying lessons so they should have to pay for that too. (Whoever “they” are).

I suggest you give up your Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid (if you wind up in a nursing home that will most likely be the payer after a year if you make it); unemployment insurance, public schools for your grandkids; libraries, etc. as what are these if not socialism?

I think the woman is young and starry-eyed and has a lot of homework to do and experience to gain and hopefully the experience in Congress with Nancy Pelosi at the helm will open her eyes to what this Party has really become....insane!

If not for the fact that there are people, whose votes still count, who thinks she is someone worth listening to, she'd be amusing. As it is, I suppose she's still amusing, but it's a little scary that there are people who don't realize she's a joke,

They keep saying look at the socialized medicine in Canada I pay for it but cannot have it because I have been out of Canada for more than six months but still paying for it. Not all things work in socialism. I know some friends who died waiting to get on the list for treatment.

Yes, Cortez does have in mind some pretty good solutions for cleaning up the air and stopping our poor climate from changing and also preventing us from disappearing from the face of the earth within her predicted 12 years.
But, she did have to make some changes to the FAQ so rather than explaining them I have attached a wonderful link to explain for me.

I also read that she would like to do away with commercial air travel by putting railway tunnels beneath the oceans to reduce carbon emissions. I can't believe that she believes what she says, as it makes little or no sense. The problem is however that Progressives get judged on their intentions, not on their results. @Lulu Moppet, public schools grew out of a movement in Anglicanism that believed in a literate public who could read the Bible on their own. It was also provided for within the Northwest Ordinance, and predated Socialism. The Socialists, Communists, and Progressives have, however, learned to use the school system to shape the minds of the students.

I know the Brits on here probably know this, but "Public Schools" in the U.S. are the "free" government schools provided by the government and open to everyone of appropriate age.

Absolutely Untrue. What they want is a sturdy basement through which no American can fall. The basics.

Looks like no volunteers to give up their Social Security or Medicare. Ayn Rand caved too.

I would certainly give up Medicare. It is the primary reason medical care is so costly here.
