Gloria Mitchell: I read the other day that by 2026, many things will be ran by robots.

    I can't wait. Attitudes - everywhere.

If the scanning set-up was better, or if I were better at it, I'd do that. Just writing about it, I'm imagining the thing saying the item isn't properly seated, or something needs to be removed from the bagging area...

I do not think I have ever boycott anything, publicly. I could care less about political position, religious belief, gender etc etc.- when it comes to getting what I need or want.
However, what will turn me off and send me on my way is- loud music in stores (and they have not corrected since my email to them)
Insisting I use self check out if my cart is full- having retail people who do not attempt to speak English when asked a question- retail help whose bodies look like they belong in a wrecking yard-due to metal.
Commercials (even tho I mute them) that show up more than twice in a so called hour long program. Just a few things that will keep me away from you place.
I only give reviews also, on outstanding products,or people performance.
Oh, and this may be off topic- do you stop watching, or lose interest in a program because of one person in the cast? That is like boycotting ?

I've rarely commented on bad products, service and situations in stores. Like most, I just try and not go there again. Once though, a couple of years ago in Coos Bay, Oregon, I went to a large regional "super" store right next to my RV park.
I bought some deli packed "loaded potato salad." It was so bad, I emailed the grocery's main office. They didn't make the salad, just bought it from a wholesale vendor. I told them that nevertheless, they wouldn't want their name associated with the potato salad, and somebody needed to taste it. They wrote back, quoting some of my comments. They got a laugh from them I think. So, they attached a 10-dollar printable coupon to be used at any of their stores.
So I thought, that was cool, they wrote me back and sent me a ten-dollar credit. But apparently someone with the chain did taste it. Two days later, I saw that every carton of the offending salad had been removed from the cooler, and assumed they did the same in all their stores, since it would've all been from the same wholesale vendor. I wouldn't have done that if it had been just not very good, or not to my taste, but that stuff was terrible. Anyone who tasted it would come to the same conclusion. And they did.

I don't boycott any businesses, but if they have poor service or piss me off I just don't go back.

The whole "kneeling" thing did make me mad. I can't handle disrespecting my flag. But since I don't care about the NFL or any football game there was no action required on my part. Just another millionaire behaving badly, IMO.

I worked with a woman who was constantly on the soap box to boycott Walmart. Any time someone would mention Walmart she had to loudly interject that she NEVER shops at Walmart and nobody should. Apparently she was never questioned about her hate for Walmart. But one day, after having heard her practically yell at someone about how they should not go to Walmart I asked her why she despised them so much.

Her answer stunned me. It took a while but she finally told me that they whole reason she NEVER shops at Walmart and why nobody else should ever shop there was because a cashier was - in her opinion - rude to her one day.

I asked her if she took it up with management and her response was no .. there would be no reason to do that because "obviously management didn't care about who they hired." So I asked her what the cashier had said to her .. her response ... she had the nerve to tell her to have a good day when clearly she was having a bad day.

I was at a loss for words .. I simply said then perhaps it's best that you continue to boycott them .. no need to put up with the abuse of someone wishing you a good day.

    She said "Exactly! "

I guess it takes all kinds !

I engage in personal boycotts when it's easy to do so. I haven't shopped at Sam's Club since their (then) CEO announced that Sam's Club would not do business with any company that didn't have a diverse board of directors. This is despite the fact that the companies they do the most business with are in China, which certainly wouldn't have diverse boards. They wouldn't do business with any US-based company that didn't have a diverse board, but gave China a pass. That boycott was easy to do because there is a BJ's only a few blocks away.

I haven't shopped at Target in thirty years because they refused to take my check. That was easy because why would I have to shop at Target? There are plenty of other places that sell what they have. I don't remember what Red Lobster did to me, but it's been more than thirty years since I've been in a Red Lobster, and I don't even know if they're still in business.

Before they removed the Indian from the label out of Wokeness, I usually bought Land O Lakes butter, but I haven't bought it since. There are plenty of other butter choices. I would boycott Aunt Jemima's too, but I never bought it to begin with.

My late husband once played in a charity pro-am golf tournament. In his foursome was an executive from a designer clothing line who cheated unmercifully and was extremely drunk and obnoxious as well.

He came home and said, "Don't ever bring an article of clothing from that company into this house!"

Not that I would, because they put their name prominently on every article and I don't spend MY money to advertise THEIR products.

    So, yes, I'm boycotting.

You gotta wonder if these corporations have finally been set free, or if they're just jumping on the bandwagon du jour.

I can’t imagine why any company would actually want to hire someone who is incompetent for the job they are being hired for, and it would really affect productivity , as well as more possibility of accidents.
Look what has happened with Boeing, and all of the plane disasters from parts not being properly assembled or installed on the planes. I am sure that the company is probably dealing with lawsuits because of this, and probably will be for some time to come , unless they can recall the planes or plane parts and revamp them to be safe.

Not only are the planes compromised, so is air traffic control. I think it was around 2010 when Obama made the FAA hire based on DEI crap. There use to be a well-worn path from air traffic controllers coming from the military to the FAA. After all, they actually had experience. Suddenly, those pre-trained, experienced ex-soldiers were put at the back of the line.
