So sorry to hear about your loss @Shirley Martin, it's a difficult situation to be in, I have faced a similar situation with my younger brother Geoff, who was diagnosed with kidney cancer last June, thankfully it had the effect of bringing us closer together than we have ever been, after having drifted apart over the years. I now visit him regularly whenever I am in the UK and we talk about life, death and his cancer, and we hug a lot now which we never did. Though his cancer returned in an aggressive form after removal of the affected kidney, and formed tumours in his stomach area and lymphatic system, the oncologist has managed to keep it under control by prescribing him a daily chemo pill, which has given good results so far, in fact a scan last week showed him completely free from cancer. It can come back at anytime of course so he has to take the chemo for life, and has been given up to possibly 5 years, though the treatment has only been in use for 5 years, so it could hopefully be longer. to you...
Thank you, @Holly Saunders and @Terry Page . Terry, I'm glad your brother is getting good results with the chemo. 5 years is a good diagnosis. A person can do a lot of living in 5 good years. It's good that you are closer. Family is everything.
