That had to be a terrible day for your daughter, @Holly Saunders ! And then to have a tree fall on the vehicle after everything else went wrong, that is indeed way over the top of awful. Prayers for you and for your daughter !
Sorry to hear about your daughter's day @Holly Saunders. That saying 'when it rains it pours' is definitely an understatement. I pray that she is feeling better soon.
Thank you all for your best wishes for my daughter, I just want to make it clear she wasn't hurt by the tree ( well not physically).. thank god!!.
This is one of those times when I really do not know whether to throw a “like” on a post or not. I definitely do empathize with the turmoil your daughter is going through so maybe a “like” is just to let you know that I’m paying attention. I do hope and pray that today is a much better day for her and also for the stress that you must be going through by just being a mother and trying to help all you can.
Well, so far there really isn’t a peak or a real pit today. Yvonne’s scheduled flight was bumped up an hour yesterday and then today it was bumped up again by an additional hour and the whole itinerary was changed with that change which is a bad thing. She still has to fly into Atlanta but it has a fairly large layover so she doesn’t have to run from one part of the terminal to another like it would have been on the old schedule so that is a good thing. The larger layover means that she will have to take a later flight with her connection in Seattle which used to be at LAX which is kinda bad. But, since she isn’t landing at LAX, (a disaster of an airport in my humble opinion) she’ll be connecting in Seattle which is much better so that is a good thing. She took off pretty much on time according to the new schedule so that is another good thing but I haven’t tracked her flight so that’s not good especially since I’m expecting her to call when she gets to Atlanta which might or might not be a good thing until I talk to her. I think I am going to toss a coin with the hopes that it lands on it’s edge signifying that the day is neither good nor bad but a reasonably average day. But then again, if a person had one of his or her hands on a hot stove and the other on a block of ice, on the average that person would feel fairly decent. So much for averages.
Thank you @Bobby Cole , yes you've got it with regard my daughter, it's very frustrating for me being in another country to be of much help other than emotionally supportive.. WoW!! Poor Yvonne, she's going to be absolutely exhausted, I hope that when she eventually gets to her destination she can rest and recover before going and having the best time. Would you have wanted to have gone with her if you'd have got the opportunity?
If all things in heaven and earth were aligned properly, yes, I would have. The main thing here is that I have traveled all my life and I spent my fair share of time in Hawaii and Philadelphia so it wouldn’t be quite the grand event that it is for Yvonne. In addition, she gets to spend some quality time with her daughter, Robin, and that to me is pretty important. Viewing the circumstance that you are experiencing with your own daughter, I think you understand. We only live so long as the axiom goes. Still, I have work to do around the house and the dogs need caring for so I’ll stay pretty occupied whilst she is languishing on the beach and enjoying the sights.
The last few days have gone rather well. Last night called my other BF who has been diagnosed with lung cancer. They caught it very very early. But it is progressive kind. Chemo starts next week. And she is sounding positive. And has a large and supportive family and friends base. We continue to pray for her and family. P>S> hubby goes in for a chest x ray tomorrow. Will just leave that right here for now.
