I get medicare in April, Lara. I was just at the drs and my BP was 116/70. It's always good. I also have a cuff at home but didn't bring it here to my daughters house. My daughter could take my BP at her office if I wanted but don't think there is an issue with my BP.

@Ruby Begonia , thanks...hope its not bursitis either. It kind of corresponds to when I get my hair shampooed ....maybe a pinched nerve.

@Chrissy Page, oh I remember now, you mentioned the shampoo chair at the salon before. I took notice then because I am short and have a short neck also and cannot bear the shampoo chair unless I bring my feet up onto the chair with my knees up under the cape. This way I can get my head into the sink without strain. My hairdresser says lots of women do this. Maybe it would help next time you go!

I never thought of that, Ruby ....worth a try next time. I'm 5'4" and my neck isn't short but something about where that hard sink hits my neck always hurts like heck. I actually feel my arm going numb or heavy. She washes me as quickly as possible and even puts a towel on the sink but it still hurts but I don't say anything just pray that she's done.

Updated: forgot to say that I've had this problem for more than 8 yrs now regarding the sinks in the Hair Salons. Before that I enjoyed the shampoos especially the ones that gave a head massage....but that has changed! :(

Your blood pressure is fantastic Chrissy! Doesn't get any better than that. You all could possibly be right about pinched nerve or bursitis, also fibromylasia. I guess it's not your rotor cuff since you didn't mention having an injury. I had that once when I fell over a chair in the dark and braced myself with my hand and arm. Gone now. April will be here before you know it.

No injury that I am aware of or remember :)

Yes, I just got some paperwork for medicare before I left home. My card and wether I want part B. I do want part B and that will cost $105+ each month.

What does B cover exactly....I know D is prescriptions.

It says medical....what does that mean! Tests? Lab work? What part do I need for drs visits.

I just downloaded a free medicare book on kindle and may buy medicare for dummies for $7.99

@Chrissy Page . as far as I know part B is for doctors, tests, etc. Part A is for inpatient hospital stays, and yes, D for Rx. I still work so my company pays part of my health insurance and I pay the rest. No medicare health benefits for me yet.

Chrissy, Medicare will send you a bunch of mail for you to read…and so will other insurance companies trying to sell you supplemental insurance because Medicare only covers 80% unless you've been admitted into a hospital. I just signed up for supplemental with Medicare (called United Healthcare).

    Thanks ladies!

    Ruby, you're a youngster!

Yes, I'm getting bombarded with mail from other insurance companies.

Wow. I been doing some reading here on SO to catch up a bit. Everyone seems to have had a good Christmas, but some of ya seem to have been a bit rough on yourselves physically. I guess I have no room to talk, my spine and hips are still screaming at me. WE BEEN BAD!!!

@Holly Saunders , I went looking for the results of your MRI, but of course I couldn't find it. Are you ok, what about your spine did the MRI show. Would a second surgery be on the same vertebrae or different ones?

@Chrissy Page , Have you tried those heat/ice patches that you can get over the counter? I know a couple of people that use them for muscle and nerve damage, and they say the relief is amazing.

@Lara Moss , did you get to do all the baking you wanted to? I use to love to bake breads, pies, and cobblers, but I am no good at cakes or cookies.

It's good to be back, and I have missed our daily routine.

I have Medicare A and B through my disability. You get it after being on disability for two years, and they deem your disability to be permanent. But I can not get the suppliments until I turn 66, and change from disability to SS.

Regarding baking for Christmas, all pies were delish and I talked my daughter into baking the ham in her new oven she was afraid of which turned out great and gave her enough confidence to bake salmon the next night which was awesome (she threw 2 dinner parties but doesn't cook lol..well, she does now).

Good morning from windy Worcester, though the worst of the storms we are getting here are in the North of England and Scotland. There are severe flood warnings in place in many areas and damage has reached epic proportions in some towns, more news here

It's 13c and still dark and I have no plans to go out today, so will do some housework I guess

The good news is that Lisa managed to get to the UK without throwing up on the flight, though very weak because she hadn't eaten anything all day.
On arriving she went straight to bed where she is recovering at her daughters house in Bracknell near London.
I will be going down next Monday to stay and help look after the grandchildren and do the school runs, while her daughter Katya and son in law go on holiday to Vietnam and Cambodia after being impressed with our experiences there.

Have a great day whatever you are doing!

That was one powerful storm! The bridge looked so sturdy and strong.…sad. Welcome back. I'm glad Lisa's okay :)

Good morning fellow seniors, from the little city on Iowa's east bank. It's a nippy 27 overcast degrees at 3am. I thank my God for another new day. I wonder what plans He has for me today.
Two things I know about. All my bills came in the mail, so I'll write bill checks later. And, today is grocery day. So, other than that, I'm likely to run amok at some point today.:D
Well, gotta go check Facebook and see what my family has been up to. Hope none of them need bail money. I'm a bit short right now.
So, behave yourselves. If you can't behave, wear a ski mask and drive a really fast car.:)
