Thanks @Frank Sanoica and thanks to all you have posted here. There is no new news. He is in the hospital, in a room, lying there. He can not speak, does not respond to conversation or stimulation. Doctors say heart, lungs, and kidneys working fine. I have heard nothing on a brain scan or any damage the bleed offs have done. Sister in law says she will notify me of anything new. There is nothing anyone can do but wait...
This is the place where I can talk to myself, tell myself things are going to be alright. Brother Doyle was the family conservative , a retired military man, religious, taught a sunday school class. He left this world tonight and if there is a here after, i hope he had a scooth landing. Regardless, I will miss him. Rest easy, brother.
I am adding our sympathy to you and your family, too, @Bill Boggs , and sorry to hear of the loss of your brother. Even when we know that something like this is going to happen, it is still so hard to lose that person whom we loved so much, and the only comfort is in knowing that our loved one is no longer suffering and is at peace. Prayers for you, your family, and your brother’s family. Edit to add: Prayers and condolences to you also, and your family, in the loss of your beloved brother, @Shirley Martin .
@Bill Boggs , I can truly say I share your grief. My brother died day before yesterday. He, too, was a retired military man. A good, kind, loving, decent man.
In our younger days when we had a vacation or even a few days off, we liked to run over from the flat country on the south plains of Texas around Lubbock to the Land of Enchantment in the mountains. We would visit Santa Fe's Old Town or if we had the time, on up to Taos. But a favorite place for camping was Holy Ghost Canyon, an area deep in the mountains between Las Vegas and Santa Fe. It was a wonderful place for hiking, climbing, or just hanging out around camp and there were so many excellent camping places. Spring feed streams ran through the canyon so water was plentiful. It was a great place to visit. Now days some might asked if it had a good mall. It was the great outdoors at its best. Today old age and a chronic illness has rendered these trips impossible but now and then it is good to walk back in time and remember these memories.
Noticed in the news that some seven hundred million dollars in donations has poured into help restore the Notre Dame Cathidral in Paris. Three black churches in Louisiana were burned to,the ground. These folks could probably use some help but didn't see anything anywhere about donations for those folks.
During the past twenty years how many wars has China fought in? None. The USA has been at war with somebody for all that time. Hum mm.
