US President Donald Trump wants Australia's role in sparking the 2016 FBI probe into potential links between his election campaign and Russia examined by US Attorney General William Barr. In a potentially explosive development for the historically rock solid US-Australian alliance, Trump has publicly named Australia for the first time while discussing what he calls the "Russia hoax" and "witch hunt". I didn't hear the comment, but the former PM of Australia WAS involved. He was a major contributor to the Clinton campaign (even though it was illegal under U.S. Law) and was instrumental in the beginning of the Russia Collusion investigation. I did, however, listen to an analysis of the Australia-U.S. relationship and it was said to be one of the strongest in the world, especially regarding the navies. Australia fulfills a vital role in the Pacific region and has an outstanding submarine fleet of modern diesel submarines that beats everyone else on the planet...even us.

Downer was never Australian PM.. Minister for Foreign Affairs 1996-2007. Could this have ramifications.. for instance Pine Gap? I have to say Australia needs America more than the other way round.

The Special Counsel investigation was an investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 United States elections and suspicious links between Trump associates and Russian officials, conducted by special prosecutor Robert Mueller from May 2017 to March 2019. It was also called the Russia investigation, the Mueller probe, and the Mueller investigation. I think it's fair to look into any other external involvement don't you?
Oh no, Bob. You misunderstand. Valid investigations target Republicans only. When the evidence points at Democrats and their allies, then it is time to shut the investigation down, and probably someone's a racist too.
