I decided to make a thread for Netflix movies, rather than creating a separate thread for each one I watch and want to share with y'all. I watched another one with a friend last night. We're familiar with James Franco from watching General Hospital, and always enjoy seeing Kate Hudson's (Goldie Hawn's daughter) movies. Incidentally, James Franco is the main character in 11.22.63, the show I'm watching on Hulu, and I've created a separate thread about that show. The movie starts out depicting a youngish couple that is struggling financially. They're from the U.S., but have relocated to the UK for a fresh start after losing his small business in the market crash/poor economy. They had high hopes, and he sank pretty much every penny they had into an old home he's remodeling. I don't think the movie ever stated, but it seems the house was for the couple to live in, rather than to flip for profit. It's an interesting spin on the age old dilemma of what good people would do if they stumbled upon a pile of money that derived from a potentially unsavory source. The movie is from 2014. It's called Good People. If you see it, I'd like to hear your thoughts.
I watched this movie "Still Mine" on Netflix last year. It hit "home" for me and made me so mad at the way the world has become. It is about a couple who have been married forever and the wife starts "forgetting things" and a husband who is going to love and care for her through the good and bad times...and everyone who seems to try to stop him from doing just that.
Oh holy moly, that sounds like one I'd really like, but it also sounds like a tearjerker. I save tearjerkers for when I'm feeling really good and upbeat, but I still keep the hankies close, because I'm a crier. That's one reason I'm happy to watch movies at home, instead of at the movies, for the most part. I tend to laugh out loud and also cry out loud. I'll have to look for that one, thanks for sharing.
That movie made me feel lots of emotions from sadness, anger, joy, and sorrow. It was very realistic in all ways.
I watch more Netflix than anything else. Not movies so much as series.Watching The Colony right now...vey good but bloody.
Same here. I have access to several others but most of what I watch is from Netflix. I suspended my Hulu account a couple of months ago because I was having trouble connecting to it and I didn't watch it often anyhow.
@Ken Anderson ...Hulu is seasonal for me. Certain things like Good Girls are current on Hulu- so if I miss on TV I can watch later. Waiting for Netfilix to good new seasons of Father Brown and a few others like Designated Survivor.
