Holly, I wish you a safe and enjoyable trip. Take lots of pictures. We left here Thursday afternoon to go down to the river. The weather was delightful. I could not have wished for it to be any nicer. We caught some nice sheephead fish and cooked them one night. They were delicious. My BIL caught a huge sting ray. I was sooo afraid he would get stung by it but he didn't. We got home today about midafternoon. If I ever go missing for a few days, I am most likely down at the river. I'll be back.
Stingray ????? pray tell, what do you do with it... is it edible ??? An extremely dangerous fish if it stings you....
The stingray's spine, or barb, can be ominously fashioned with serrated edges and a sharp point. The underside may produce venom, which can be fatal to humans, and which can remain deadly even after the stingray's death. I didn't think they could be eaten but my son said this morning that they could.
Me, too, Steve. I didn't get near it until I was sure it was dead. Even then, I just got close enough to get a good look at it. I bet @Holly Saunders is having a grand time. I hope she doesn't forget us.
Holly most likely is having withdrawal symptoms from not being on here..... On the other hand, I am glad she is finally getting some time away and seeing her daughter.....
I wonder what happened to @Joy Martin ? She hasn't posted since June 11. I guess she wasn't as smart as us so she chickened out from the games. Oh, well, not everybody can be as smart as we are, I suppose.
Morning Folks... Just popped into say Hi........I'm still in Southern Spain ..having a great time. No withdrawal symptoms Steve, ..too busy to have time to come on here tbf....but I've stopped by this morning because we're having a rest day today. Temps have been averaging around 35 deg c..so it's been very hot...I've been swimming every morning..which I love and can't do at home.... I've posted on the Good morning thread if you wanna know what I'#ve been up to thus far... Shirley...wow! wow!..to that Stingray!! We've bee out sailing, saw some grey mullet, that's about all... there's dolphoins in the area but we din't get to see any... I took loads of photos of the fish as well as everything else, but they're all on my phone . If I have time I'll post them from my ipad because I can't get them on this laptop
Lovely hearing from you Holly.. Glad everything is OK with you and you are having a great time.. Keep on enjoying the trip and don't stop the excitement.. Thanks muchly Steve. I've created a Golf photo thread in Pictures so you can see where we are. Hubs has gone over to the clubhouse bar for a drink and I'm just doing some washing and staying in the cool of the AC indoors, first day we've not been on the go in 9 days..so I need the rest. I'll go take a swim in a little while...
