I already have her email address, and she has mine, but I know what a private person she is, so I don't want her to feel I'm prying, or putting any pressure on her. and I know that the type of person she is, she will come here when she's ready to talk..I'm very pleased she has family to support her physically and emotionally, but it's concerning for all of us as online friends wondering how she's doing and that she's not poorly . I suspect we'll just have to be a little more patient!!
If you have facebook, you can always send her a friend request, Shirley ? Babs has facebook and several of us are friends with her, so I am sure she would enjoy adding you as well.
I messaged her, and also asked her to check in with us if she can. Told her that we miss her here. It looks like that storm that is coming in and is flooding parts of Louisiana , is going to go right over top of Lafayette, where @Babs Hunt lives; so we need to be keeping that dear lady in our prayers for this as well as the cancer problem. The news was showing water raging down the streets in the French Quarter of New Orleans, and I remember that one of Bab’s daughters was flooded out before when they had the bad storms a year or two ago.
Thanks for that Yvonne, yes indeed we will absolutely keep her dearly in our thoughts and all of those who are suffering in the floods too... This weather this year is absolutely crazy... flooding in places, and 45 degree temps in Europe.. just incredible!!
Hello Everyone. I'm sorry I haven't checked in for awhile...it seems like all my siblings are having serious health problems too right now and if it's not them it's one of their children or in one case their spouse. It's a very rough season in life for many of us right now and I've been busy praying and keeping in touch with all of them...along with dealing with my own problem I just don't have much time for other things right now. I'm going to my first Oncologist appointment on the 17th of July (this Wednesday). My middle daughter that is a Registered Nurse will be taking my husband and me to listen to what she thinks should be my treatment plan. Please be praying for me during that time if you don't mind. I won't be making any decisions at that appointment...just hearing her out. It's a very hard thing to wake up each morning to the reality that I have breast cancer. Even as strong as my faith is...as a human being I deal with anxiety, depression, panic attacks, fear, etc. just like everyone else does. I went to my Primary Doctor a couple of weeks ago to get some prescriptions to help deal with these roller coaster emotions since they are affecting my quality of life and if there is something that can help fix this...I'm all for that. I am still just taking one day at a time...and each day I wake up the first thing I do is thank God for a new day. It doesn't seem like God's plan is to heal me on this earth...but He could surprise me. Either way, I know I will be healed one way or the other in God's perfect timing. I'm not having any real pain so far...except emotionally as I come to terms with the reality of breast cancer. My daughters are having a hard time facing the reality that there is a very good chance they may not have their Mom around for a long time...and they have gone from being totally supportive of my decisions...to basically letting me know they want me to do "anything or everything" possible to prolong my life. That is putting a lot of pressure on me. I told them I would go listen to the Oncologist...but I still could not promise them anything. Most of the treatments offered would not give me any quality of life and there is no guarantee they would prolong my life either. But the Oncologist can give me an idea of how long I might be around before I head to my heavenly home. I know this is going to be hard for some of you to read...it's not so easy for me to say this for that matter. But I don't have any control over this...it is what it is. And if it's my time to go to my eternal home in the near future..I still have peace about that. I just don't have peace about what I might have to face before I get there. No one wants to endure pain, etc. and believe me I don't want to endure it either. Sorry if this depresses some of you. It's just a hard time for me right now...and worrying about all my siblings, etc. and their health problems is not helping my peace of mind right now either. I hope next time I post I can be much more positive. I can tell you all one thing though...if I didn't have my faith...I would never be able to bear this on my own. And I'm so thankful I don't have to do that.
Sorry to hear this, Babs, but we ALL support you in this and, I can't speak for others, but wife and I will definitely be praying for both you and your family. We ALL want you to know that we MISS you on this forum. You are very much loved by the members of this forum!!
It's wonderful to hear from you Babs... we're all so concerned about you and what your situation is right now, so thanks very much for taking the time to update us. I was very emotional reading your post, I'm sorry, I shouldn't put that one you..... however wish you absolutely everything you wish for yourself, and I will certainly be praying for you on the 17th of this month... we all want you to be well again, and hoping and praying that the oncologist has positive news for you and your family.. Hey Holly...you are not putting anything on me...what I am going through does play havoc with the emotions and since I shared mine honestly with y'all...there is no reason why y'all can't share honestly with me too. I don't believe in burying my head in the sand about realities in my life, maybe because when I was younger and did that it just caused so many problems that could have been solved a lot sooner if I would have just pulled my head out of the sand, put my big girl panties on and did what I needed to do. Whatever I do with what I have been given...I just want to be at peace about it and live the best life I can for however long I am still on this earth with my family and friends.
