I just saw on a TV report that if you sleep on your side you must be a Extrovert, therefore I must be a Extrovert because I can only go to sleep and stay asleep on my side.
I have always slept on my side. I was an extrovert during most of my life, but became an introvert as I aged.
Sleeping mostly on my side - introvert. The greatest events – these are not our loudest but our most silent hours.
Well, I sleep on my side and I'm most definitely an extrovert. Now, my wife, she sleeps on her side and, depending on the mood she is in, she is both extrovert and introvert. Actually, give her a good/stout margarita and she can become an extrovert fairly fast. I love it!!!
I've slept on BOTH sides all my life. When I was young I was an introvert, but since then I've become a loud, opinionated Extrovert. I like myself better this way! Hal
Wow. What a shocking statement I don't think anyone in the group realized that. I'm SUCH an extrovert, that people are always confused at to why I don't socialize. It's not obvious that I have an inner hermit that prefers going for days without seeing anyone. That's why I get up so early. Just a few hours where it's doubtful anyone will call or drop by.
I am trying to figure out the rationale behind the statement. If a person sleeps on their back, it would seem that they are going opposite to a simple animal instinct of leaving the belly open for attack which indicates a lot of trust. Plus, people who sleep on their back generally snore more than when they lay on their side. Sleeping on the side is fairly close to a fetal position which is a protective device in itself and makes a smaller target and also allows the person to get up quicker should something disturbing occur. Again, it’s a trust issue. Hello, my name is Bobby Cole and I am an introvert. (everyone says, “hello Bobby Cole) I do not wish to change and that’s the way it is. (and the crowd goes, “ awwwwwww”) Now, when do I get my first medallion?
I have found that there are more Seniors that are introverts than extroverts. Some people get shocked when I say something about the printed t-shirt or baseball cap they are wearing (picture or what it says). Actually, years ago I was quite a bit of an introvert (believe it or not), than one Saturday AM, I looked in the mirror and told myself "You have to do something! You want a relationship and to get married again, but, just what are you doing about it?" So, I became more outgoing/extrovert and things worked out much better for me. Met my wife and been married now for 18 years.
