Nope, I do not think I wrote anything about owning a gun. Weapons yes, gun no. If I have written that I possess a gun, it might have been in preparation for buying one or it was a stupid bit of prevarication for which I apologize because I do not like to tell a lie in any way shape or form.

And, we have a couple of good reasons why we do not move no matter what the environment might be. I might complain about it but I’m not foolish enough to believe that moving on a whim is going to change anything except my back pocket.

AND furthermore, anyone who is NOT ready for whatever might happen be it a tornado or a break in might reconsider how foolish they believe themselves to be.
Even a Boy Scout knows that he is to be prepared for whatever might happen whether or not the chances of something happening are next to nil.

All that said, I think I might just go to the pawn shop and buy a shotgun today just to make Cody happy. I’ll strap it to my sawhorse and play cowboys and Indians or pretend I’m the high plains drifter.

THAT’s the problem Cody. It’s a repeat of a repeat of a repeat. Just the names of the cities have changed.
Everybody here loves ya pal but when you get stuck on something it’s like a broken record. How about praising something for a change??

Then, Bobby, who was the member here that talked about having a gun? They stated they don't live in the safest area. Without a doubt, I know I read that persons reply in a thread somewhere.

Cody... no one lives in a safe area anymore. The times have changed, and you need to just roll with it; we are on our way out and the world will just keep turning.

Ok, praising something...…..how about the very low crime rate here. Compared to Jacksonville, there is literally no crime here. Unfortunately, there are quite a few DUI's here, but shooting/killings almost everyday, like Jacksonville has...…….definitely NOT here.

And, yes Bobby, have to agree with you about my "repeat" of city problems.

Now, my question for you, since I really do respect your replies (seriously), just what do the Seniors here do about the changes they've seen in their beloved city of Loveland? Von stated that they should do something, instead of complaining so much.

I'm sure, without a doubt, the Seniors we have talked to would have something to say, and not good things, about the young man at Safeway that had full makeup on and worked as a cashier. That's not the "beloved" Loveland they use to know!

Well, you should look up...……"2019 safest states in America" and "2019 safest cities in America".

I don't want to look it up, because it's meaningless. I'm going to live where I live no matter what the statistics are. Seems to me that you spend way too much time focusing on crap that doesn't really matter in the scheme of things, and you are far too judgemental for someone claiming to be a Christian.

Ok, would you live in South Central, Watts or Compton California? Would you live in China Town or Little Saigon? Would you live in an area where you hear a police helicopter each night and/or gun shots?

My wife is just as judgmental as I am...…..perhaps you should try it sometime. We are both Christians and see absolutely nothing wrong with being judgmental. When a person is judgmental, they end up picking the right friends.

Murders/shootings? Bank robberies? Rapes? and all of the other crime that was seen in Jacksonville, but isn't here. I have the Loveland Reporter-Herald app on my iPhone and the crime here is considerably lower than either Denver or Jacksonville. IOW, I read about the crime here and it's DUI's and other traffic offenses. Very little of anything else.

No, I wouldn't live in those places because I live in Houston Texas. This is where my life is, my family is, and where I don't give a damn about "statistics."

I am not a Christian, and yet I still know this...

Matthew 7:1-3 King James Version (KJV)
7 Judge not, that ye be not judged.

2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

No-one is suggesting for a minute you should choose to live in a high crime area if you don't want to..of course not..but Cody what part of that link I posted did you not see ''murders' rapes, assaults etc'' in Loveland , as well..

I think we are always quick to forget how hard it was on OUR grandparents when our generation barrelled in with loud rock n roll, birth control, guys with long hair, women wanting careers, checking out drugs, etc.
You are right. We have to realize our generation is now the grandparents and we have to let new generations explore their own vision of life. Sure, it looks crazy sometimes, but we did too. :)

I can't tell you or anyone else what they are 'suppose to do' only suggest an idea and let the decision be made if to follow through - if the idea is liked of course.

You mentioned city council though by chance has any senior or group of seniors ever voiced their complaints there. You have to agree that you have to start somewhere but even before that a spokesperson and/or leader along with concerned citizens who are willing to commit to the cause. I'm sure you understand all of that though.

Voting is another way to take action. Get to know the members of the council. The more you know about them you'll know where your vote will go.

Another suggestion is stop listening to all the negativity about the place where you are living even if you are in agreement. There has to be something good about it to enjoy until you leave.

Don't be a part of the misery that loves company.

Just looked it up, and, the only thing that's not here, that would make this "new" city complete to many young guys, is a Strip/Adult Club.

Now, on with this.......obviously everyone on this forum knows that I'm a "talker" and like to ask questions. So, when I meet/am talking to a new Senior person and/or couple, a question just seems to come out: "how long have you lived here and what do you think of the change?". After asking that is when I can get the "ear full".
