We have lots of Blue tits and goldfinches in our trees in the garden as well as the bigger birds, Collared Doves, wood pigeons, blackbirds, Robins, Sparrows etc..

We hang the bird feeders on the trees where the finches lives... they're so tiny they have to be close to the food and water.. but they also move very fast too, so it's hard to get a good shot of them

This is a picture I took this morning of them feeding on the Niger seed....

Only in the UK can you use the words blue tit and spotted dick. :D
Really interesting feeders. I don't think I have ever seen any like them before.

What do you call Blue Tits in the USA?>.. or don't you have them?

here's more of the feeding station, we've also put a new water bottle up there too, so when it's windy the water isn't lost to them...

@Holly Saunders We may or may not have them in the south. I think it's a great name for a bird!!

Those are pretty birds, Holly. I don't think we have the same finches here. We have purple finches, house finches, goldfinches and indigo buntings.

@Bess Barber , I believe the wire around the feeder is there to keep unwanted birds out; like the brown headed cowbirds who are such pests at feeders here. Smaller birds can feed but the larger birds can't get through the wire.

Beautiful photos as always @Holly Saunders.

How do you fill the feeders? They look pretty high up.

Oh we just get on the ladders and unhook them, Von.... we refill them every few days, and then about once a month we take them down and clean out any wet or stodgy gunk that's gathered in the bottom, and scrub out the feeders with water and soap...
