Is this a reference to the suwannee river? I live WAY closer to it than you do and have not heard that phrase. (Will add to my Hollyisms list.)
Peak: Decided to go to Winn Dixie instead of WalMart for groceries because they are much closer and had a beef sale. Pit: When I had to pay the price difference. They do have great meat deals, but they more than make up for it with the high cost of everything else.

Absolutely right on both counts Thomas. Bess probably wouldn't know I had an American English teacher btw (well remembered) , ... however Up the Swannee..or swanny, has been a saying in the Uk since before I was born,

Nope, I didn’t put a “like” there because you had to wait or even have a reason to go to the dentist. The like is for sharing with us simply because you know that we all really do care.

We learned that old song when we were kids Beth, and probably our parents and grandparents too ...although a much more upbeat version...similar to this....

Pit of my day... Fedex delayed the delivery of my new laptop. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. I sat home all freakin' day, waiting on them. Peak... the better half is headed up to the Austin area for 4 days to help our son-in-law build a shed in the back yard of their new home. I get to be unsupervised for 4 whole days!! YAAAAAAAASSS!!
