Oh my @Ken Anderson! That's frightening to imagine!

I agree you don't have to tolerate the pain-take something for it so you can at least relax your muscles. It also doesn't do good for your blood pressure either being in so much pain.

Keep Ella close. Pets always seem to make you feel better when you're not feeling well.

Thanks, everyone. I do use a heating pad and I took a couple of Tylenol but refused a prescription for stronger stuff. The Tylenol didn't help so I won't be taking any more of that. I am not concerned with addiction. I just don't like that pain medication simply adds drowsiness and confusion to the mix, without taking away the pain. That's been my experience in the past, anyhow. So I'll tough it out. Walking helps some, not lastingly, but I don't hurt as much when I'm walking, so I've been doing some of that. If I sit down with back support, it doesn't hurt so much but getting into and out of a sitting position is terrible. Ella is confused by it all. She doesn't like anything that breaks up her patterns, so she's left knowing that something is wrong, and probably wondering how this is going to affect her. She spent the whole night with me, however, although I'm sure she'd have been more comfortable in bed.

Do you have access to a walker, Ken? Just having something like that to help "hoist" you in and out of a sitting position might help a bit. Take it easy!

Ken, you're like my brother. He won't take a med for pain and simply puts up with the pain he gets. Basically, nothing stops the dude from hard/physical work every day.

I'm totally different. I absolutely hate pain and will take a med to get rid of it.

Anyway, Ken, please take it easy on yourself.

Put a wig on and a pillow under your shirt and go get an epidural. You DID write in another thread that you were pregnant Ken.

At least in this case, you have a good excuse! You could cut the pain meds in half and just use them so you can sleep comfortably. If you only use them a few days, there shouldn't be any addiction problems. But, I get what you are saying and respect your resolve.

I refuse narcotic pain meds also for same reasons. Have you tried Diciofenac Sodium cream? Requires a prescription, but sure gets to relieving the inflammation without a lot of the effects of oral ibuprofen.

I'm sure Ella is out of sorts with all this, they sense so much when things aren't part of routine. Pets can be high on the list for comfort.

I take ibuprofen on a daily basis and I'm "still alive and kicking". And, btw, narcotic pain meds are GOOD! :D
