I'm guilty of that. I like to wear black, so when I find a piece of clothing I feel looks good on me I always buy 2 or 3 of them. People probably think I wear the same outfit every day when in fact it's just another black top and white shorts... my "uniform."
I think women always tend to be more conscious of appearance than men. It's a gender thing. We want to be purdy and smell good. That's what keeps the cosmetic and perfume businesses in business.
@Beth Gallagher @Holly Saunders Wow girls !!! I totally do that too, have for years. When i do the bought clothing thing, most often black, slacks mostly, will buy 2 or 3 if they're high on my list of likes, sewing as well, if not all black, black with other colour print, usually will make 3 of the same print, people think i only have a couple of things to wear, fooling people....LOL...Great going gals. .
Maybe you need to get a little closer to them. That could end up taking care of the boredom time you mentioned.
and what about you Lon, can the ladies say that you smell nice too?...do you wear a little classy cologne?
After reading this I got to thinking when was the last time I wore dress clothes about 2-3 years back my best friend asked me to take her to a friend's wedding, very formal, I wore black Dockers, a black button up long sleeve shirt / Donald Duck tie and black boots black western cut coat, but took my jeans with me to change before we left for home, I was not relaxed at all but did it all for her. They did have very good food afterwards to eat. My last wish is to leave this earth in my jeans and LS shirt well worn.
Always tried to dress appropriate for the occasion according to dress code or president Of course in recent years we've become more casual in our dress in most areas of life.
I am very laid back. My personal hygiene is impeccable as I am very fastidious about cleanliness, however, while I appear neat and groomed, I wear very relaxing clothes. I only dress for special occasions and that seems to be the mode of all here. A couple of the men can look sloppy at times but I blame the care managers for that. The residents in our Alzheimer's Unit are very well groomed, indeed.
