Great idea, Bess. My brother had a huge collection of matchbox cars and he passed them along to my son. Well, we, in good faith, also decided that when my older brother had a son, we'd pass them to him. Unfortunately, his mother found that they cluttered his playroom and threw them out. We all were livid. Every once in a while I pick one up for my son to add to another collection, but he displays them now on shelves in his office. You cannot imagine what my sister in law tossed in the trash that I gave to my nephew. Original G.I. Joe and all the accoutrements that accompanied him. This was before they went to miniaturization of that series. What a collectors item it would have been today. I was absolutely livid. She could have at least asked if we'd like it back. Good thing they moved to Florida where I don't have to interact with her for I doubt I'd ever be civil to her again. Every time I loaned my brother something of value, I never saw it again. I hope God gave him a good talking to in heaven.
Yes, Christmas time at our house, as my wonderful wife explained, is very simple. My part of the kingdom, the porch, might be a tad different this year. I have the LED ropes strung and they’re on a slow pulse right now and somewhere down the line as we get closer to Christmas, I think I’ll get out the big speakers from my shop and play some music on the porch for all to hear. My goodness, the John’s rolling down the street to find a lady of ill repute might think they’re shopping at Walmart. I guess I’m okay with that just as long as no one thinks I’m the customer service rep and tries to return one of ‘em for their money back! Actually, I’m a lot more reserved than that but I do like to play a little music on my IPad and a small speaker (quietly) and this is what I just finished listening to and was looking for a good place to post it. Behold, my most favorite musical group.....Celtic Woman singing “O Come All Ye Faithful”.
Love it! I love everything about Christmas...my favorite time of year. I know everybody complains that it starts earlier and earlier each year but not for me. I can listen to Christmas carols even in the summer, lol
Most of the traditional ones but maybe “Little Drummer Boy” and love how Pentatonix do it ....also like Celtic women’s version.
