They must pay very well here for I cannot imagine any chef putting up with such nonsense. My cousin was a first rate chef who studied at Larousse Gastronomique in Paris and at the American Culinary Institute, and he'd tell them to stuff their job if his ability to create in the kitchen was ever compromised in such a manner.
She is lovely, @Lon Tanner . Do you sit with her while y'all eat? It would be nice to have someone attractive and interesting to chat with while you are dining.
The pic was taken this morning as she sat across from me at breakfast. She is hearing impaired as I am so chatting is somewhat strained. She usually sits with some other female residents.
@Lon Tanner ,you could take a pad and pen and write what you want to say. Or, if you both have cell phones, you could text each other.
What a brilliant idea!!! That is what young people now do in a bar when the band is too loud. @Lon Tanner It's always nice to make a new friend. Sometimes, just a smile from someone makes a person feel better!
It's been two years this month that I have moved in to my apartment at Oakmont Assisted Living and it's been a continual learning process. Some of you reading this OP will eventually be at the same point as Lois Winters and I. Lois is the only other person on this forum that I know of that is also a resident of Assisted Living. If I had one bit of advice it would be keep your tech skills and improve them.
I've lived here for 12 years and I've adapted quite well. In some cases, it seems like you are back in college with all the apartments being rather close and everyone is friendly. Of course some are nosey. I'll be away for 2 weeks beginning next Thursday, but I do go off quite often visiting.
Residents and guests were encouraged to dress up for this event. It's been a while since I've worn a jacket. The Hors d'oeuvres, wines & Christmas Cioppino with lobster was outstanding.
You look very smart Lon. Great photos, I hope you had a super time, did you have any guests of your own there ?
What a handsome picture @Lon Tanner !! Everyone looks so nice all dressed up. I'm so glad you have such a wonderful place to call home.
Lon! The pics could have easily been from the Friday Christmas Party here at Liberty Village, in Peru. http://libertyvillageofperu.com/http://libertyvillageofperu.com/ Dear jeanie had a cold, so I had to go by myself. While we live in a regular home (called a Villa) we both spend a lot of time on the "Campus". We decorate exactly the same as we did back in 2004, when we bought.
