@Gloria Mitchell -- how are you today? I'm getting worried over so many SoC members having health issues. Check in when you feel up to it!!
Awe Thank you. I am doing okay. Still have the swelling but the diuretic does help. I go to primary doctor on Monday.
Pit: tomorrow is my eye surgery. I'm nervous about it. I don't think I'm going to sleep well tonight. Peak: So far no iguanas have fallen out of a palm tree and landed on me. The squirrels are shivering, though.
Every now and then I make it through the night without having to get up, but it is few and far between. At least I do fall back to sleep relatively easy.
@Faye Fox is having eye surgery next week. I used to wonder why older people always talked to each other about their health. NOW I know it is because we have so many things that go wrong. Good luck tomorrow!!
@Gloria Mitchell Best I can do online.........virtual flowers. Hope the doctors get to the bottom of this soon!
What kind of surgery? I am going in for secondary cataract laser surgery Monday, which they say is easy. Next spring laser for glaucoma. The cataract surgery wasn't all that bad. The only thing that hurt briefly was the deadening shot.
Good luck tomorrow, Mary. Is this for cataracts or something different? Check in when it's all over; we'll be thinking of you.
Surgery to remove the epiretinal membrane that has formed over my retina, causing macular pucker. The distortion of the retina causes all straight lines to be very wavy (interferes with reading). Also, I see closer with the affected eye, so I knock a lot of things over. The brain trying to coordinate both eyes hasn't worked well and I'm frazzled. They'll go in through the back of the eyeball, deflate the eyeball, hopefully remove the membrane without removing the retina and then pump the eyeball back up again. Yeah, it grosses me out, too..... Unfortunately, there's no guarantee that the retina will return to the normal configuration. BUT, 70-80% of patients see at least "some" improvement. Pretty good odds. Can't drive for 2-4 weeks. Can't fly for 8 weeks. Thanks, guys; please keep your fingers crossed.
@Mary Robi, I will do more than keep my fingers crossed. It's amazing what they can do these days, but I fully understand your consternation. I'm pretty sensitive when it comes to my eyes, so much so that I have never even tried contacts because I don't like the idea of digging the things out my eyes every night. My wife has to have needles stuck in her eyes a few times a year; I cringe, and it's not even my eyes. They are very, very good at what they do these days, however, and the percentage surely look good.
@Mary Robi - sincere good wishes to you - soon be Spring when you can relax and put this time behind you @Gloria Mitchell - be firm with that Doc
I just realized these are running threads. ... just caught up. . hope all those surgeries and Dr visits get over quick!
