Who stayed on a job for years & years Cody? Not Me. It's all about planning and then executing the plan.

There are probably numerous Seniors that can only dream about living the way you do. One thing for sure, wife and I both like spending money. My wife has always been, even before we met, much better at saving than I ever was. But, then again, while I was making $14.50 per hour, at 61, she was making around $60k a year salary. But, she has two AA degrees and a Bachelors. When a person has college/university Degrees like that, and a nice salary, they can save money much, much easier.

Cody--I would be a Happy Camper if all seniors my age and younger could live as well as I do.It's not about how much per hour we make or a nice annual salary. It's about making CHOICES. Fortunately for me I made some good ones.

For each guest that I invite to share one of those delicious meals that I have posted the meal charge will be $ 12.00 for Breakfast, $15.00 for Lunch and $17.00 for Dinner. Tray Service Meals to a Residents apartment will be $10.00.

From the food pictures you've posted, it looks to be a reasonable charge for such a great variety. The presentation is nice and you say it
is always good. Do they get a lot of guests eating there on a regular basis or just sporadically or on holidays?

I am having my daughter and sil for dinner tonight. Yes the residents invite family and friends to have a meal with them. I always see a few guests at meal times. There is a Private Dining Room that can be reserved for a larger number of guests.

That is really nice. It probably makes the residents feel more like they have a 'home' they can actually invite friends and family to. I think some people tend to think assisted living is more like a hospital, than a real home atmosphere. This is why sharing your knowledge in this area is important. If you decide not to do the book, perhaps you could even contribute articles to one of the many senior citizen publications out there or even the newspaper.

I decided to have a Microwave Marie Calender Chicken Pot Pie for my Pre Super Bowl lunch instead of going to our Assisted Living Dining Room for lunch. The pie was quite good, particularly with a couple glasses of red wine.

I used to eat Marie Calendar meals all the time. Publix Grocery would have specials for 5 at $10 and I would stay stocked up. Then one day, I got tired of them and haven't eaten one since. They are really good though and have a great selection.

My husband was out of town last week and I indulged in a Marie Callender pot pie. SO good. I bake them in the regular oven for a flaky crust.

I was eating alone but across from me was a resident having his 94th birthday dinner. No walker cane or wheel chair.
