Good morning friends, I didn't post yesterday, (Friday) as we arrived late and the WiFi wasn't working. It's 7:30 am Saturday and a misty dawn at 24c The train journey here was a real adventure, the first train was fine with prebooked seats and a new Chinese made so called blue train. It was late leaving of course as most Asian trains are, so we missed our connecting train. The next train was full of commuters and I managed to get in a seat reserved for pregnant women, though I protested I wasn't pregnant, which caused some laughter from the other occupants of the carriage. This was an older Indian style red train, which was full of fans and all the carriage doors and windows were permanently open. Halfway to our destination the locomotive broke down, so eventually they brought another train alongside us on the other track, lined up the open doorways and we had to leap across the 3 foot gap to the other train, all good fun. There is not much health and safety here We eventually arrived here at 8pm two hours late, got a Tuk Tuk to the place we are staying a few miles away, met the owner and climbed the 60 or so steps up the cliffs to our apartment. Will post some pics later. Meanwhile I wish you a good day /night /afternoon or whatever part of the day you are enjoying.
Good Morning everyone... 6.30am...and just having my coffee before getting ready to trudge off to the Pitface in the dark and rain....ooooh roll on the lighter mornings and nights, I can't wait ...I hate going to work and returning in the dark!! Have a super Saturday folks.....see you later
Relaxing on the beach now with free WiFi after yesterday's train adventure. Located a local alcohol shop and stocked up with stout in the fridge for later. Don't work too hard Holly you need some rest Wish you were all here to enjoy the sun and sea. The beach
A sunny beach would undoubtedly be preferable to the blasting gale and horizontal sleet that is pounding us at the moment. On a happier note, the Adnams Old Ale was quite exquisite. Even more pleasing is that it's not finished yet.
Yes Tom the beach plus the ale would be the preference The weather looks to be awful again in Scotland
Mornin. We have 32 degrees at 6am. It's supposed to hit near 50 later. I just might make a store run later. Next week the temps are said to be more seasonal. Like in the 20-30's with rain or snow or who knows? Watched the movie "A walk in the woods" with Robert Redford and Nick Nolte. All I can say is, there's an hour and forty five minutes wasted, that I'll never get back. So, my daughter may come by today. Probably while I'm at the store, if I go. Oh well, she's got a key, and I'll leave a note. I'm never gone over an hour. Usually less. One of the local newspapers ran an article showing toys from our youth. The writer must have been very young. No boy from my age group would have been caught dead playing with the crap in the photos. Girls, maybe. There wasn't a single bicycle, BB gun, cap pistols nor toy soldiers in the bunch. We're raising a bunch of unisexers rather than boys and girls these days. God will get us for that. Speaking of soldiers, here's a photo of my niece, who was married a couple months ago.
Good morning everyone, cloudy, rainy day here. Just have to get through today with the boys and my job is done! Really not difficult watching these 2 as compared to the 3 little ones in Illinois. The 17 yr old can cause me some worry when he goes out at night, driving and to parties or wherever he goes. I can't relax til I know he's safe and sound and home in bed. Have a great day all! @Ruby Begonia , thanks....and I do deserve it, we all do. Haven't mentioned my mom in awhile, she's out of ICU and moved to Kindred transitional Care. Has a tracheotomy and still can't be weaned off the ventilator. Every time they try she gets very anxious and it fails. They've started her on xanax. She also hasn't passed the swallow test so no food or water and my sister says every day she asks for an outshine bar. She loves those. We are starting to worry about her being on the vent so long.
