I like tea. Not so much the green teas, although I have had some green teas that I like but, overall, I like the taste of tea. Like coffee, it can be drunk either cold or hot and, like coffee, I usually prefer it hot. Comparing taste alone, I think I'd have to give tea the edge. While there are coffees that I like very much, there are even more teas that I like. Plus, there's almost no end to the different tastes that can be found in teas, whereas there's only so much you can do with a coffee bean. Most of the differences between coffees are subtle.

Tea tastes good. Like coffee, it can be served either hot or on ice. So why do I prefer coffee? Oh, I will take occasional breaks from coffee and drink tea for a day or two every couple of months, and I usually have at least one cup of tea each day; maybe not every day. But I can't sit here and drink tea all day. Most often, after one cup of tea, I'm ready to go back to coffee.

Is it the caffeine? Both have caffeine, although coffee tends to have more caffeine than tea. Tea averages from 15-70 mg caffeine, while coffee averages 80-135 mg caffeine. That would make sense, but I can drink decaffeinated coffee nonstop and not know the difference. The only reason I usually buy caffeinated is that there aren't very many different blends of decaf. People drink decaf because some idiot told them that caffeine was bad for them or because it keeps them awake, which isn't the case for me.

So why do I drink a couple of pots of coffee each day, while I average maybe 30-40 cups of tea in a month?

I know I'm not still upset about the British tax on tea because my people were still in Sweden during the Tea Party thing.

After all, people are always talking about the health benefits of tea, while all we hear are the dangers of the evil coffee. I have even had a doctor tell me that I couldn't count coffee if I was supposed to drink x cups of coffee a day. What do you mean, I can't count coffee? It's very close to 100% water.

I like tea, and I like hot tea better than iced tea, so I am more apt to drink tea in the winter than in the summer. I usually drink a cup or two of coffee in the morning, and then if I want something hot in the evening, I might make a cup of tea instead of coffee.
Now that the hotter weather is coming, I will be drinking iced coffee again, and I really enjoy a large mug of that in the afternoon when it is summer and hot weather.

I have coffee with breakfast and tea for lunch. I'm considering just sticking with tea since coffee seems to result in a headache. Must be too much caffeine.

I like coffee - I like tea (yes I'm singing it)
Have the same amount of both a day. When Ken mentioned honey on another thread, I now put a spoonful of honey in my coffee

Don't drink tea. The few times I have,it needed so much sugar that I might as well be drinking soda. I will drink Ice Tea on occasion, but it still has to be sugared to the extreme.

Then you’d like “Milo’s” sweet tea made right here in Alabama! Tastes like syrup to me but they sell a ton of it.

After experiencing my first and prayfully my last UTI in the 80s, I turned to drinking tea. I drink all but green tea. It's a gift that is easy for family and friends and has never failed to bring a smile on my face. Of course there were some that didn't sit well with my taste buds but at least I gave them a try.

I love iced tea with lemon slices when it's scorching outside. It's a great thirst quencher.

I only drink coffee when I'm out of tea. It's more expensive than tea so I only buy it when I'm out along with flavored creamers hazelnut and french vanilla.

I like both tea and coffee. I have a very strong plunger coffee first thing in the morning. Another coffee mid morning. Mid afternoon I have a cup of tea, it has to be very strong. I buy Tetleys Yorkshire Very Black Tea, it’s great, strong as paint stripper. I do drink it milky though.
In summer I make jugs of cold tea, sometimes cold green tea. I’ll sweeten it with agave nectar. I also drink Linden tea, I bought some in Greece last year, and also artichoke tea which I first tried in Vietnam. Earl Grey is very nice too.
I do like to have a coffee in a nice cafe but it must not be too hot. Very hot coffee is a crime, it completely spoils the taste. Plus, drinking very hot beverages is dangerous to your esophegus.

I like an occasional cup of hot tea with lemon and honey. My mom was an inveterate tea drinker.
