    I know nothing about it but I've become interested due to one of my favourite programmes
    Ancient Aliens. It has been a recent discovery that there are 2 secret doors in the tomb of
    Tutankhamun. I need to update the following later - but a pool of liquid mercury has been found
    I 'think' in Tuts tomb and also in a tomb in Machu Picchu
    Makes you wonder why the liquid mercury was there ….. fascinating, as we progress further
    with investigations and new technology

    Mercury: Chemical designation: Hg, popularly known as "quicksilver", Atomic Number 80, Atomic Weight 200.59.

    It brings out the luster when applied to silver coins, and was known as far back as 2000 BC.

    @Hal Pollner

    Quite toxic stuff. "Stays" forever, evaporates extremely slowly. I saw an x-ray diffraction photograph of the bowl full of mercury beneath a barometer clearly showing mercury vapor (invisible to the eye) wafting out of it.
