I was just thinking that I have not worn a mask at all. For one thing, I haven't left our house/yard since the first week of March--almost three months now. My husband carries a mask in his vehicle and wears it when necessary, but we have groceries delivered and I order stuff online. Just no reason for me to wear 'em.

Have you seen mask-wearers cough? No one wants to cough into the mask that they are wearing because that's gross, so they pull the mask down and cough, then pull the mask back up. I still rarely go into a store, not because I'm afraid to but because I hate confronting the craziness, and because there isn't really much that I need.

The gym we normally go to has opened up but they decided that on the free wights and cable sides, we all have to wear masks. On the pool side, they do not which is understandable because breathing through a wet mask would be very hard to do and in some cases, dangerous.

I do not think I have to write a long diatribe to describe how weight training with a mask on is less than smart either. The cable machines and free weight stations are already 6’+ apart and sanitation stations are all over the place. Add to the other disease preventions I wear surgical gloves just to keep from picking anything up from the bars and weights in the free weight room and I have and use my own V-bar, straight bar, rope, and sling grips for the cable machines.
If I wore a surgical mask, the filtration would restrict air and if I wore a dust mask like just about everyone else on the planet, they do no good anyway with the exception of filtering water droplets which again, make the masks hard to breath through and as @Ken Anderson wrote.....gross.

I'm glad I can train at 2pm when most people are working. So there are usually between 3-6 people in one large room. Since I wrote about it last time they have opened an extra room for the free weights and bars in which you'd have to wear gloves. Just glanced at it but haven't been there. In all rooms masks need not be worn while training. Saunas and showers still closed. This is what the largest room looked like before some rearrangement became necessary.

Since the demand that we wear masks added to the fact that Yvonne likes to hit the hot tub before swimming, we haven’t been back to the gym yet.
I’m not really sure but I believe the showers are off limits also which to me, is stupid.
The constant reminder to wash our hands somehow doesn’t cross over when one wishes to wash one’s whole body. Unless there is something unusual going on, I don’t believe people get too close to each other whilst showering particularly because all of our showers are single stalls anyway.

The weird thing about our gym is that it is a Hospital system gym. The very day before the mandated closing of it there were doctors and nurses working out all over the place sans masks and gloves so that told me a story right from jump street.
Note: There have been 4 deaths attributed to the virus in our entire county and it has been reported that there are still questions as to what really caused those deaths.

Now, I am not writing that we shouldn’t be cautious but places where people train are filled with people who are concerned about their health so allow them (us) to determine what is good and bad on our own. If I think that hitting the locker room is going to be unsafe, I won’t go into the locker room. If I think that going into a 160 degree sauna is unsafe because the virus dies at 164 degrees, then I will not use the sauna with or without a mask.

by the bye.....that’s a great looking gym! Clean, crisp and with the addition of some plants, nice, really nice.

@Ken Anderson Yes, I have seen many cough into their mask and also ones that pull it down and cough! Also outside stores mask down and cigarette lit and smoked while several crowd into the small smoking area. Worst case of ignorance I have seen is an old man in line at Home Depot reeking of tobacco smoke, with his bandana just over his mouth, not nose and then he has to cough and pulls down his "mask" and chokes and coughs, then spits a real hunk of green-yellow mucous on the sideways. This same old man told me I was selfish for not wearing a mask. What I had to say to him violates forum rules so I will leave it at that. I also got in an argument about church singing with a church-going friend. She falls for this spacing and wearing mask in church and no singing. I say no mask, no side to side spacing, and sing out loud, a let it rip! At worst you will blast the person in front of you with small moisture drops and all they need to do is just wash their hair or better yet stand out in the sun for a few minutes. Maybe everyone should wear a headscarf in church and that could be easily be washed. Even shake hands! Just remember to sanitize your hands and don't talk loudly and directly in someone's face.

While other states are opening up, our governor has placed even tighter restrictions, requiring the use of a mask in public. Today, she posted this photo of herself to her Facebook page, then took it down when it started being shared.

No, that's not her daughter. She has no daughters, and her youngest step-daughter is around forty years old. Although she took down her post, I am told that this is an employee. So, in Maine, apparently, any peon can be fined $1,000 and imprisoned for 6-months for not wearing a mask in public but the governor issuing this order, which is not a law because it was never enacted by lawmakers, is exempt, as is anyone who accompanies her. During the first protest against her virus mandates, people were protesting in front of the governor's mansion. Seemingly in an attempt to trivialize the effects of the protest, the media reported that the governor wasn't even home; she was out to dinner. No one else was allowed to go out to dinner at that time, which was one of the reasons for the protest.

Local spinmasters are hard at work, some suggesting that the photo was taken last summer, which was clearly not the point of her having posted the photo, to begin with - plus, those who live nearby, say that the menu in the background is a current menu. Another spin is that she is with her daughter, which is also not true. Although she looks pretty young to me, she was identified as an employee.

Another interesting thing that I found on Facebook this morning, that I had not thought about, but is important, is that you legally can’t concealed carry if you are wearing a face covering, thus wearing a mask is also affecting a person’s Second Amendment rights to carry a weapon.

Here is something pretty interesting, and it makes you just wonder how far ahead of time these “plandemics” are planned. Look at this picture from the Denver airport, which was painted in 1994, over 25 years ago, and see how much it looks like what we are seeing right now. They are saying that kids are going to have to wear masks to school , and this looks pretty prophetic to me.

I bought a mask in case I absolutely have to go somewhere that requires one, such as my visit to the eye doctor. I have found that if I leave the filter out of it, breathing is a little easier. It's only required for the scare factor anyhow, so it's not like it's supposed to be effective.

I was going to get one that said THIS MASK IS AS USELESS AS MY GOVERNOR but I thought that was a bit wordy, and no one would be able to read it all without staring at me, and that would make me self-conscious.

They just passed an ordinance here in Alabama that ALL public places have to require masks, so now Bobby and I have a decision to make about this. Neither one of us wants to wear a mask; but I did get that hat-mask (in my avatar) which I can wear and still breathe okay.
We have already been ordering some of the groceries online, but I like to pick out my fresh produce myself, plus, I just enjoy going to the store and shopping.
We don’t go much of anywhere else now that the fitness center is not an option, so grocery shopping, or an occasional trip to Walmart or the dollar store is about all that we leave home for nowadays.

We will most likely still be making at least some trips to the store, but I might consider doing the curbside pickup as an option for some shopping.
