    There was still some good music in the 70s despite the disco sound dominating the music scene..

    @Craig Swanson

    George Harrison was successfully sued for plagiarism for his rendition of "My Sweet Lord".

    "Released in November 1970, "My Sweet Lord" made George Harrison the first of the Beatles to have a solo No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was an appeal for a closer relationship with God. Harrison would need it.
    A few months after its release, Harrison was sued for copyright infringement by the publisher of "He's So Fine," a 1963 hit for the Chiffons. On Aug. 31, 1976, Judge Richard Owen of the United States District Court found Harrison had "subconsciously" copied the Chiffons' tune."

    As for wife and I, we like both disco and classic rock. Have numerous songs on cd's from both.

    Harrison's interview seemed quite sincere.

    Tiny Dancer - Elton John, 1972

    "This song ... didn't even crack the Top 40 in America when it was released. The fact that it's over six minutes long didn't help it get a lot of airplay at the time, but time has been very kind to it." -RollingStone

    I always liked the duets some of the duets the BGs did with Streisand (and others.) And they wrote some great songs.

    When you need a Donna Summer fix, nothing else is gonna do.

    There you go.
    Gotta love Gloria Gaynor, too.

    And then I'll sit down and listen to Billie Holiday, Ethyl Waters and Sarah Vaughan.
    Ends of a spectrum but still connected.
