I can't recall the exact location of this sign in Jordan, but I dug it out of my photo collection because it's a good one.
I suppose that every country has places with odd names and the UK is no exception. One of my favourites is this village in County Durham in the North-East of England.
I promise that this is quite genuine. The village of Dull is in Perthshire and they have indeed twinned with a suitably-named town in Oregon.
For hundreds of years, this intersection in rural Newcastle, Maine has been known as Cowshit Corner, named for the sizable manure pile that was there. When I first moved to Maine, there was an old wooden sign there. In recent years, as newspapers began publishing stories about it, people began stealing the sign. They put up this larger, professionally made sign, but it too was stolen. This is the more recent one. Hopefully, it will be a little harder to steal but I preferred the old wooden one.
