But having said all that, Biden is not very inspiring. I swear, I hate it that all these oldmen are running for office.
If I was king of planet earth, I'd make all polititions retire evermore from politics or working with or for anything
associated with government and could not be appointed to anything. And certainly no lobbying. I know
everybody takes care of their own but not politicians, I would declair. If you wanted to run for president, you'd
have to be between 35 and 68, otherwise you'd not qualify and could only serve one term. Both Biden and Trump
are too old to serve as president.

I don't think equality will ever come about, and looking at the pro and cons, the ins and outs, the moral inturpitude,
of younger men, I'm not sure it should in the present moment. I think it would weaken the country. Perhaps
someday when generations have passed, maybe. But I wouldn't hold my breath. The present day America is not
ready and will not allow it to happen. Government have grown too large and we are too dependent on a large
central government. Actions today across America may be the only way black people can draw
nationwide attention but it is not helping their cause, it is hurting that cause and pushing their goal further away.

You got it. You're not dense; I read your postings. You're probably right on the popular vote.

Bill, is that your new hat? Very dapper!

And I agree about the ages of political candidates.

No, maám. That's an old photo; it was my work hat, a good straw that I wore almost daily, except in the depth of winter, for years
while working in the agriculture industry, living in Lubbock. I worked first for a manufacturer of sprinkler systems and irrigation concrete
pipe, PVC plastic, and aluminum irrigation and the fittings necessay to install and use that pipe to irrigate crops.
Then later as a sales rep for a bolt and nut company who also sold plow tips and a number of small items used on
Farms ranches. The western style hat and various caps were worn by most men not working in an office or
Class room from western Texas north through the Dakotas and westward toward toward the Pacific, at that time. The new cap is this.

Nice photo Bill. I like that cap. What is the camera? I think I see Canon. I am looking for a smaller camera than my old Canon XTI Rebel. My cell phone does great, but still want a small high-quality camera that I can plug into my computer.

The blue cap is the one I was asking about. Apparently you had replaced your avatar with the cowboy hat before you saw my post. :D Both look great on you.

Sorry I misunderstood, Beth, I wouldn't have been so wordy.

@Faye Fox The camera is an old one in todays changing market. It is a Canon Powershot SD1100 IS digital ELPH
and for a small camera has a reasonably fine lens. I have a larger Canon Powershot, an SD530 HS, a
larger camera, but the small one is more reliable in my old hands.

I recently got word my brother in Wisconsin is in a home for demintia patients.
He has been given three to six months to live, due to his heart condition. I
knew he had heart problems, he's had three or four heart attacks and due to
diebetes he has sores on his legs that won't heal. His son and daughter in law
live nearby and I’m glad of that. His wife is in the same home with Parkinson’s
and dementia. She’s been there two years; he since July.

There were four of us; Iny, Miny, Mighty, and Moe. I’m Iny. Moe was the youngest, he died first, then Mighty. Now it looks as though Miny may be down for the count, but you never know. He’s four and a half years my junior yet we don’t know who will exit next, there’s no formula. If he goes before I do, then this will have worked backwards.

@Faye Fox, I forgot to say the camera is the size of a pack of cigarettes.

Pay no attention. I'm thinking out loud
    you know how thoughts are.
They come and go with little control
    down a winding path you
    didn't know was there.

    And then they dissappear
into the murky recesses of the mind
Like minnows we need a net
Or a reliable old pet to go fetch them
    From where they hangout.

You lay in your bed they pop in your head
These thoughts from so long ago
Where have you been, where have you hid
I wanted to know as I bowed..
Pay no heed, there is no need, I'm merely thinking out loud.

I did a similar one a while back that I rewrote again this morning. Thanks for the inspiration. I had it in my back burner files. My flow is still a bit rough, but that is my style.

I've been fooling around with my camera the last couple of days, wishing some of my old close up film lens fit
some of these digital cameras. I've carried a camera around with me since I was a young man and never
    have been good with one.

I used to attend the Coyboy Symposium held in Lubbock, Texas every year. There was a photographer there, he
came every year, he was a professional photographer, and at the symposium he used an 8 X 10 camera. He'd
lined these old coyboys and some young ones, up against the wall and take a head shot in black and white. They
were fantastic photographs, big ole 8X10's of the face, shot with an 8x10 camera up close and personal. All were
good, really good. Some were works of art. I wished I could do that. But owning a camera like that and all the
support equptment was expensive, and knowing how to use one effeciently could take years of practice and
much cost. Impractical and I knew it was. But I hoped to find a camera that would approximate what his big camera
did. A 4X5 does what a 4X5 does but it won't do what an 8X10 can do, neither will any of the medium formats.

Looking back now I wondered why I thought I could really accoumplish what that photographer at the Cowboy
Symposium did every year when I was not profecient with a 35mm or one of the digitals I have today. I'm just not
competent. I've had some good equipment, some good Twin Lens Reflex film cameras but I wasn't good at using
them. I do however wish I still had some of he pictures I have taken with them and other cameras because I was in
    places I'll never go again.

Still as an old man living in his last days I still have two cameras. And I enjoy using them. I can't get out and about
anymore and all I can shoot is in this house and on this small property but I like to do it as unprofessional and
uninteresting as they may be. I know I'm not good but I still keep trying to take or make that one photo good enough
    to hang on my wall.

I dreamed last night I was in far west Texas sitting in the club house at a golf course. A number of men were in this little town to go
black tail deer hunting. Some had just come in off the golf course. I was sitting , sipping a drink , when I noticed a man walk over to
a window. He was staring out at the landscape south of the golf course at the far off hills. A taller man walked up to him and said
something I couldn't hear. The first man said what's down there among thse hills and the tall man answerd, nothing, a ranch or two
and the Big Bend Park, and Mexico. The tall man left.

I looked again at the man by the window and decided I knew him. I got up with my drink and walked over. I said,"Ëisenhower?"
He turned and stare at me. He said "Do I know you?"

I said, "No, but I stood with you in a chow line one time."

    He said, "Where was that?"

    "Korea, Camp Casey."

He asked what outfit I was with and I told him 25th Infantry, and he remarked, "That's a long time back."
And then he asked what town is this and I told him Alpine then he asked if I lived here.

No, I told him, I live in Oklahoma and I asked him what he was doing in this small town in west Texas. He said I'm waiting on my train,
what are you doing here? I replied, having a drink and thinking of driving over to Marfa. The man at the window faded from view. I supposed I should
have addressed him as Mr President or General but I didn't think of it until he was gone. Anyway I didn't plan on stopping in Alpine, I
    was going to Marfa.

I awoke thinking 'how strange'. Dwight D. himself. I thought he was looking old.

I had company Saturday. My sister in law and her daughter and son in law drove up from Ft Worth.
It was good to see them all. Almost like old times. We ordered in pizza for lunch. First time anyone
has come to my house in several years. My son came over and the commn language among the
guys was music and instruments. John plays several insrtruments, including harmonica so I wsas
able to join in. It was a good time Saturday.
