I last went to this theater to listen to Leo Kotke, maybe 20 years ago. I saw Bob Dylan and Joan Baez there. The venue of 400 people was intimate and happy. At one point when Kotke had finished a song it should be impossible for a human being to play, I spoke out loud "I wanna have your baby!" The whole place laughed, including Leo Kotke.

They've posted new torturous rules since the pandemic. There are far fewer live concerts. You have to buy tickets by the pair because they have installed back tables in place of rows of concert seats. Now look at what $60 buys you..
    • All high touch surfaces will be cleaned in advance of each performance
    • Hand sanitizer will be provided at each table
    • Performers will be a minimum of 12 feet from audience members and will not enter the audience area at anytime
    • We are limiting our audience to 10 tables, with only 2 guests at each table (the Theatre capacity is over 400)
    • Tables will be spaced out in the theatre, with a minimum distance of 8 feet between tables
    • We will be screening guests before they enter the lobby with a series of COVID questions, as well as taking temperatures
    • There will be no walk-up bar service in the theatre. We will offer table service ONLY with texting to place your order
    • Guests must keep their masks on, covering both mouth and nose while inside the theatre (except while actively sipping), as well as adjoining areas (i.e. – lobby, hallways and restrooms)
    • Guest must be seated and not mingle while in the building
    • Guests will be dismissed by individual table after the concert to ensure adequate social distancing
    • Guests who fail to follow these rules will be asked to leave

You know, I would pay $60 to not have to mingle with the unwashed masses, even if I did have to wear a mask.

But at $60/guest, they're only taking in $1,200 per show.
Seems like it's negative cash flow to me.

[sarc]I'm glad they're Social Distancing, because briefly getting within 6 feet of any random person is the functional equivalent of spending 1/2 hour in an small exam room with a known-positive patient. [/sarc]

I do not like doctors because in essence, I’m paying so I can be forced to wear a mask, sit and wait until my name is called and then when my name is called and get where I’m supposed to be, someone is going to poke around, prod me and further make my life a little more frustrating.

The good thing is that my insurance covers going to a doctor but paying to be abused at a concert would come right outta my pocket.

Excerpt from a long essay by Hardscrabble Farmer:

I don’t have any answers to our current dilemma, I’m still trying to figure this world out at the age of sixty. I do know that we are being manipulated and abused by people who do not have our best interests at heart and it becomes more and more undeniable as each day passes. How we respond to that is a personal decision and I do not fault anyone for doing what they have to to get by in times like these. For those who are comfortable with the new reality or who believe that the masks offer some sort of protection I respect their decision, but everyone ought to be able to rely on their own best judgment rather than be compelled by the directives of others.

But never forget that we can do even the simplest of things in order to show that we are still free; to smile at each other when we pass, to extend a hand in greeting or to hug each other in times of grief, to show up at a funeral or a bedside and offer what little we may to boost the spirits of others or offer consolation in times of loss. Teach those when you have something to offer, learn from others who know more than you do whenever you can and always remember that whatever divides us we share a common humanity that offers us far more than we could have ever earned on our own.

Oh. I thought that briefly getting within 6 feet of any random person was the same as having sex with a known positive patient. I also thought that that was why some of the people I pass too closely by breathe a heavy sigh and light a cigarette.

What does [sarc] mean? ...and how do you tag someone in your reply?

(Sarc) is short for sarcasm. To tag a person in your reply, use the @ sign before their name, and it will be highlighted and they will get an alert, @Dwight Ward .

To tag on to Yvonne's comment, you do not need to remember the exact name of the person you are tagging. Once you type the "@" and a few letters, you will be presented with a list of User Names from which to choose:

    How to tag.jpg

    Play with it.
    You'll see.

I didn't catch that their prices have gone way up.

I think they're talking about the orchestra seating I'm familiar with. So they didn't remove that seating to install tables. The tables must be in an area I don't know about. They have a restaurant I've never been to.

When I saw Joan Baez in Easton I waited for her to come out the performer's door to walk to her big long bus. I got her to sign my album with a felt pen and then I gave her a signed picture of Felix and myself, titled 'Best wishes to Joan from Dwight and Felix'. She was a little drunk and thought it was funny.
