I am watching on C-Span and the introductions of the debate commission are in progress. I hope Trump took a good look at the Cleveland Clinic Health Model. It is the finest in the world and would be great for all of America. Is it Socialized Medicine? Yes, in a sense but of the very best kind to be found.

I posted a live stream on Post #45. I think it will work if anyone might want to watch and post.

I've tried three different sources for the debate. All are stopped and loading. The internet is overloaded. Oh well - I'll watch it delayed at a later time. It wouldn't surprrize me if the debate doesn't break records for viewership. People all over the world must be watching.

Dwight, you aren't missing anything. It's just as I expected; a bunch of chest-thumping and talking over each other so that neither of them is scoring any points that I can tell. They should call the debates "pompous asses behaving badly." I think I'll watch a movie.

The pause only lasted 7 or 8 minutes for me. I'm listening now instead of watching. Biden has called Trump a clown twice. I think Trump is slightly ahead. Biden seemed to tire after 45 minutes. Trump didn't follow up on the Charlottesville thing and explain that he actually excoriated the right-wing extremists at the rally.

YouTube also carried the C-Span debate. If you can call it that.

Well, thankfully, that free for all has ended. It was less a debate than accusations being flung by both sides. I have to sleep on this one.

I’m sure Yvonne watched more of it than I did. I see-sawed from the debate to other things and back again.
It seems that right about the 2nd question, Wallace was concentrating more about D. Trump and less about a debate based on something that the candidates could be mutually concerned with.
I really do not know who can be called the “winner” so I’ll have to do a little reading and probably ask my wife what she thinks.

Okay, I watched the Donald Trump/Chris Wallace debate on NBC but had I not actually watched the debate, I wouldn't have recognized it from the NBC synopsis of it. Oh yeah, I think Biden was there too, but I don't know why. He didn't drool, so I guess he did pretty well. I wish they'd skip the partisan moderators and let Trump debate Biden directly.

Disappointing. I expected the debate to be a deciding factor of some kind. After an hour and a quarter I just got bored and left. From the part I saw Biden didn't disqualify himself as incompetent as I thought he would. Neither was DT as impressive as I expected he might be. One thing came across clearly; these men despise each other.
One thing I caught was Biden's insistence that the American people's vote in Nov. should decide the court appointment. That's not the law. The far-left seems to be leaning towards eliminating the SC altogether, saying it's undemocratic. They forget that we were never set up to be a pure democracy. Every person voting for or against every law is a totally unworkable system.

Also, they don't like the electoral college system, citing the fact that Donald Trump won with fewer votes than Clinton. This country was originally supposed to be a union of sovereign states, each almost completely governing themselves. That was not practical, but the electoral college system is one way the states retain some of their status. Being a Marylander should not be exactly the same as being a Delawarean in law or otherwise. In our states' abilities to come to different solutions to problems all can compare one to another and find a best way.

This 8 min. summary of the debate was pretty good. It's by CNA, which I think is Channel News Asia. I got sidetracked twice hunting for what 'CNA' stood for. The three organizations that popped up most often:
    Channel News Asia
    Catholic News Agency
    Center for Naval Analysis

The Channel News Agency is the news agency that did the summary below.
The Catholic News Agency site is very relevant for the current issues it addresses.
    .......it's here: https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/
The Center for Naval Analysis' origin and operation is an important but mostly unknown part of American military history.
    ........... see it here: https://www.cna.org/about/history

Wallace irked Trump with his obvious leaning toward Biden which brought out the typical, "Donnie from Queens, NY" street fighting spirit. The President is, of course, past master as this type of confrontation. Thus, he was determined to disrupt Wallace at every turn. He quite succeeded and actually, not one single point was made as to why we should change horses mid stream. One point that was made to ensure we should not change horses is the fact that Biden will gladly shut this country down further until COVID is conquered. He was off on that one and if anyone missed it woe to the voter who tries to elect him.

One of the statements made by Biden seemed really odd to me. Actually, it was started by Chris Wallace, so it was probably supposed to be a good thing for Biden.
What was said is that Biden has a saying, something about “don’t compare me with the Almighty...... I am the alternative”.
If he is talking about God, then the alternative would be the devil, or at least a demon. If he just means a mighty person, or a leader, then the alternative would be a worthless person.
Neither interpretation seems good to me, as far as it being a recommendation for Biden’s abilities.

As far as the whole debate, it was pretty obvious that Wallace stopped Trump any time her tried to explain some lie that Biden said, and any time Biden interrupted, Trump was told to let him speak and give his side.
All of the questions were designed to make Trump look bad, enhanced by the lies that Biden then smilingly fed the audience (us), and how Trumps tax returns could ever be a point of debate is totally beyond me, so that was just a blatant attack, as far as I could tell.
I am interested to see how Kamala does with Mike Pence in the next debate. I think that most people in this country have already made up their mind if they are pro-Trump or anti-Trump, so I am not sure that the debates will change anyone’s minds, but it is interesting to watch.
If they had a device on Biden, it was well hidden, and there were a few times when he just stood there with that stupid grin on his face, so he could have been listening to information.
The picture that @Martin Alonzo posted does look like it could be a wire.

There is a video of this on Twitter, and you can see Biden reach into his jacket and it shows the wire, so this is real and not photoshopped. Another thing, when Wallace asks Trump about his tax returns, and Biden says, “when ? Inshallah”.
    What is with that ?
Biden is not supposed to be a Muslim, and that phrase means something like “if God wills”, so maybe someone said that in his headset (or whatever he was getting answers from).
