Great song, @Tom Locke , here are the lyrics. They sound like they could have been written by @Ike Willis! HA! Pogues – Lullaby Of London As I walked down by the riverside One evening in the spring Heard a long gone song From days gone by Blown in on the great North wind Though there is no lonesome corncrake's cry Of sorrow and delight You can hear the cars And the shouts from bars And the laughter and the fights May the ghosts that howled Round the house at night Never keep you from your sleep May they all sleep tight Down in hell tonight Or wherever they may be As I walked on with a heavy heart Then a stone danced on the tide And the song went on Though the lights were gone And the North wind gently sighed And an evening breeze coming from the East That kissed the riverside So I pray now child that you sleep tonight When you hear this lullaby May the wind that blows from haunted graves Never bring you misery May the angels bright Watch you tonight And keep you while you sleep Songwriters: MACGOWAN, SHANE PATRICK LYSAGHT
Not going to bed yet it's only 7.45pm but it's been a busy day.. lots of driving, lunch out, and a lot of shopping.....here's my early goodnight in case I fall asleep before it gets too late.......
Kick back Holly. You deserve some peace & quiet after working all day at lunching & shopping. Life is so hard K
Glad you are tired from a fun day, @Holly Saunders instead of at the PitFace. I think that's what you call it?? You'll have to tell us why, if you did...I missed it. Nitey nite!
Goodnight @Holly Saunders and all who are heading that way too, I am slipping into sleep after a late night child minding last night, see you all tomorrow.
I have been watching this video for a few nights before going to sleep I find it mesmerising somehow,
Yes, I know. I watch reruns so they put me to sleep. For some reason they comfort me. I know them all so well by now that just hearing the dialogue is relaxing.....family.
I'm lost. I don't watch "Big Bang Theory". I thought it was a silent story of swimming in paperwork and escaping constraints of time. But I wish he didn't leave his briefcase behind…that's bothering me still lol. So am I missing something? It was mesmerizing. I prefer happy endings though….like bumping into a love interest on the way who just happens to be a rich female executive secretary/CPA/lawyer/plumber/electrician to handle all his paperwork.
My comment about Big Bang theory has nothing to do with Terry's video except that he said it lulls him to sleep and I said thats what Big Bang Theory does to me.
I guess you can interpret it in many ways, I picked up on the briefcase being left behind, and saw it as a symbol of the work/treadmill situation, which he leaves behind and goes into the light, the destination Soeng is a direct translation of a Chinese character “想”, it means “think”, “miss” and “want to” and is used in the video as in to follow your dream, so it was a happy ending on this interpretation The composer of the music Olafur Arnalds lives in Iceland and I have followed his music for some years, he was originally a drummer in a heavy metal band, but now composes this melancholy, dreamy music. Here is another mesmerising video of his This beautiful one created from the musical notes/frequencies
