And I'm using a plastic tablespoon salvaged from a measuring set I threw away when the labels wore away.

Speaking of cheap thrills, the cashier's mask started to slip as I was checking out this afternoon. I almost saw the tip of her nose! Suddenly we're back in the 1800s.

I still have a Mr. Coffee plastic scoop circa 1980 or so. Maybe it will be worth big $$$ on Ebay someday.

My husband's grandfather used to tell of sitting on the street corner downtown when he was a kid, trying to get a glimpse of ankle when a lady exited the trolley.

And as for coffee. Remember when I said I could drink Folgers?? Well, forget that. Now on the hunt for decent ground coffee that isn't reminiscent of gym socks.

I grind my own coffee. I buy 8 O'Clock whole beans at the local Walmart, 2 versions of Hills Brothers whole beans online from Walmart (one of them very dark) and mix them together as my regular coffee. I experiment with different types of whole bean coffees I buy from Walmart and Amazon, just to mix it up throughout the day...but they have rarely been worth the up-charge. Currently I'm drinking White Monkey. Don Pablo's pretty good. Neither will break the bank. Maybe my new coffee maker will yield a starker contrast.

I had used a blade-type spice grinder for years before finding that Black & Decker burr-type grinder at Goodwill. Amazon has a discontinued Cuisinart for half price. You fill the hopper, set the grind type, set the #cups, and it stops when the right amount has been ground. No measuring required (or so they say.) I've been looking at it because I broke the lid on that Black & Decker (still works but I gotta hold the lid down for it to stay on.) Fresh-ground really makes a big difference.

My coffee grinding days are over; grinder carted to Goodwill a couple of years ago during the Great Kitchen Purge of '18. :D I just want to buy a nice, full-bodied ground coffee and toss it in the filter basket with my new fancy black walnut coffee measuring device.

I have groceries coming tomorrow so I ordered a few brands to try, including a store brand that has good reviews. Also ordered a can of ground McCafe French Roast from Amazon; those are my go-to k-cups so I hope the ground coffee will be as good.

Oh, and @Ken Anderson , I'm probably not telling you anything you don't already know... but the Black Rifle coffees are much more reasonably priced directly from them. Amazon pricing is stupidly inflated so I'll try out the "club" that you just dropped out of.

Uh...at $16/12 0z. package average price, that works out to over $21/pound...plus shipping. "Space Bear" is $37/pound.

Maybe if I tried it, I would never go back to the cheap stuff.

Yeah, I bought my first couple of bags from Amazon but my subscription was direct with Black Rifle, not through Amazon. I'll probably rejoin them too. Even the stuff that is stronger than I would like has a good taste.

One thing they do if you order from their website... they donate a bag of coffee for each bag you buy to a branch of the service. You choose which branch; I chose Air Force since my son-in-law is a career Zoomie.

    Interesting.

Any idea how much shipping is? I tried to go through a test checkout process to find out, but you gotta give your personal info in order to get to that step.

And I looked at Amazon. Some of Black Rifle's coffees are $5/ounce ($60/pound.) Most of them are nearly double what the direct price is.

I like the Bodum milk frother ! I can add hot fluffy milk to my morning coffee, and I have discovered that the froth on top helps to keep my coffee hot in the cup for longer.
I am stopping it before it gets completely done, because then it is so thick that it does not pour and you have to spoon it into the coffee or tea. So I let it get almost done, nice and warmed, but still pourable, and I also added a dab of flavoring to the milk, so it has a caramel flavor.

Gotta love these gadgets that put smiles on our faces.

I never thought of that layer of froth as providing an insulating benefit, but it makes sense.

I realize they do not give a hoot and my boycott will not be noticed, but I will not knowingly do business with any company that supports the republican leader and agenda.

I get my coffee from "Sweet Marias"

I think it's about $5 for shipping if you don't join the club. I entered all my info but when I didn't submit an order it all just disappeared (no payment info entered). If you join the club, you can set it up for 1 bag a month for 3 months, get the free shipping and have 3 bags sent to the branch of the service you choose. I wish they had a sample pack of all their different coffees; my main issue is that I don't know which one to choose and it's too much money to be "testing."

If you are referring to the Black Rifle coffees, yeah... I can see where you of the "party of acceptance and inclusion" would not want to support AMERICAN VETERANS.
