A 2020 nonfiction work that reports the damage done to children raised in the Synanon cult.

As a sub-theme, the author relates his experiences and relationship with a mother who is tormented with a severe Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

Very gloomy and I'm not in the mood for gloomy.

It is rare these days that I have 3 books going. When I was younger, I often had 3 books going as well as magazines and journals, and, in the old days, newspapers. Two books at a time is fairly common for me, usually one non-fiction and one fiction, but I now have one fiction, one semi-fiction (based on true events), and the survival medical book I mentioned earlier. Like someone else mentioned, I now usually read on a tablet at night.

Some background here I had 2 uncles close to me 1 American that fought the Germans in ww2, Army, the other German who fought the Americans, 12th HJ SS, I was very close to both of them they also were great friends and a riot to be around in person. My German uncle had a best friend that was a WO2 in a Uboot and gave my uncle many oil paintings he painted and traded for of Submarines. So my love for submarines was born from an early age, I very much miss both my uncles, I have a large reference collection of books and some original boat logs plus my best friend is German, a retired flight attendant handicapped now and I am the care taker there, by choice. My uncles were the best.
I read most anything I can get on submarines both American and German (more there).
    Just sharing here.
