For me it's wanting to continue the qualification requirements for receiving long term care payments.

That Austin will, in the near future, have air that is unbreathable, due to far too many people moving here with far too many cars and trucks. As it stands, every morning, when we wake up, we never know what that first, conscious breath of Austin air will bring. Usually, it's coughing and sneezing. I am concerned that a time will come when the haves decide they can't stand it anymore and they'll abandon ship, leaving thousands of tent people and crashing real estate values. I don't want to get caught behind that mass exodus, yet I'm not sure what location would be any better, for my purposes.

Austin is attracting "liberal" refugees from both coasts reportedly. They are the ones who want to impose policies on others that they, themselves, don't want to live under. I don't think you will see a big exodus.

Silliness! I've lived in Austin for forty-three years. Its liberal bent is a fact, and has been since before I got here, but that's fine with me.

I referenced bad environmental conditions bringing about that exodus. Nothing to do with any political leanings. Zero!

FWIW, some of the wealthiest folks here do own properties in Colorado that they escape to during Hell Season, otherwise known as Summer in other cities around the world. Those folks are best positioned to permanently leave Austin, once a critical tipping point is reached, environmentally.

Wanting to live around more friendly folks. Of course, with this "virus thing" still going on, lots of folks don't want to be friendly right now. Can't really blame them.

We will have one more move in our close future, but not sure where to. This city has way to many young people in it that look like they just moved here from either Denver or Los Angeles............two cities that Seniors here absolutely don't like.

With your rodeo hobbies, why don't you live closer to where those are a routine activity? I would think the cost of living to be cheaper in such a locale as well.
