I want to say I haven't looked at Beth's video yet because I haven't been
back on this thread until just now but will go back and look at it shortly,
but first I want to commit on something else before I forget what I
wanted to say which is always a danger with me.

I was cleaning up the mess on my desk and the top of my four drawer
file cabinet and I found a book I didn't know I had or had forgotten. I
bought it at the Friends of the Library at the Library in Lubbock more
than ten years ago because Friend’s have their stamp on it. I was a member
of that organization. To me finding this book is almost like walking barefoot
in a stream and finding a small gold nugget.

I haven't read the book but the Authors were long time editors at Story
Magazine and both taught creative writing at Columbia. It's contents are liken
to pearls in the rough, for I so enjoy reading some of these older books on the
subject. The book is Fiction Writers Handbook by Hallie and Whit Burnett,
and has a Preface by Norman Mailer. I'm sure this book would mean
nothing to most but to me, well, it made my week and my spirits will soar even
    longer.

Regarding the above riddle, I worded the riddle wrongly and left out an important piece of information. Some days I’m up, some days I don’t know where I’m at in the cosmos.

I was a Ray Stevens fan and had heard I'm my own grandpa. Surprised you found
it, @Beth Gallagher. But my memory seems to be falling off by leaps and bounds.

Was just watching the weather here in Norman and noticed a tornado warning between
Lubbock and Littlefield moving toward either Plainview or Floydada, my old stumping grounds.
Those storms will wind up inOklahoma later tonight if they hold together. That doesn’t mean we’ll
have severe weather or even rain showers but having lived here ten tears means it does behoove
    to keep one’s eyes open.

This comment is not written for public viewing but hidden down here in my little corner of the
world. I wrote this to exercise my brain which does not seem to be working at full capacity.

On the third of this month I bought a harmonica from Amazon. I wasn't paying attention.
Now I know the harmonica was one of the worst inventions to come to America but I have
a lung disease so I started blowing around on one years ago. I went through a six or
eight Hohners, blowing out one of the brass reeds on one end or the other and one or two,
suffering from metal fatigue. Some were not in tune or had reeds that were sticking. I swore
I'd never buy another Hohner harmonica.

I started trying other brands of harmonicas. I tried Lee Oskers made by Tombo company in
Japan, Suzuki Harmonicas, another Jaapanese harp, some of which are top notch and
professional harps. I bought several Suzuki Harpmasters, and learned to play on them. I tried
solo tuning and Orchestra tuned Seydel harps with stainless steel reeds, a thicker, harder to blow
reed. I admit I didn't like the stainless reeds. I now have fourteen harps, eleven of them are
Lee Oskar. But like I said, I bought another harp the other day. It was a Hohner Marine Band
Deluxe, supposedly a much improved harmonica over ethe old Marine Bands I had started
out on. But the Deluxe didn't last long.

Shortly after Hohner came out with the Deluxe they came out with the Crossover, a harp
inspired by Americn Blues players whio also helped develop and design the harp. Hohner quit
selling the Deluxe in North America. I saw three on Amazon and bought one. Not being too bright
I figured some dealer got stuck with a few they could not sell and listed them with Amazon.

I didn't pay attention. I thought it would come from a US Dealer but instead it has been
shipped from a dealer in Australia. I should get it on the twenty-second of this month. I got a C
harp but wish I had gotten an A harp.t. I'm getting long of tooth and may not be blowing much
longer, but I'm still anxious to try the Deluxe Marine Band.

I guess the irony of this is a few months ago I emailed an Australian dealer asking him to sell
me one of Suzuki's top of the line harps that Suzuki had stopped selling in North America. He
refused, telling me to get it in Canada or England. I tried to buy one in Canada but of course
they were not allowed to sell these harps either. So I buy this Hohner and it was shipped me
    from Australia.

You may want to contact a local "helping agency" to tell you what your options are, Bill. There may be meal delivery services for your community that are not affiliated with the Meals on Wheels organization. And that agency can make you aware of other local support stuff that may be of value either now or later.

I've had my hand in these things locally for quite a while. If you want help with where to start (or with anything else), hit me up with the town you live in (either reply here or to keep it private send me a message) and I'd be happy to find some data for you and folks to contact to get started. Or not. ;)

    Gotcha.

Here's a link to search their services by your zip code.
You still might have a different local group that can provide this for you.

Norman has meals on wheels but I would rather find someone to pickup our meals.
I don’t know, I’m-going to have to make a decision soon.
